I think that there are always going to be lots of sequels
Jesus, this guy knew it from the start :v: Also, Deus Ex, possibly one of the best games ever made, only got a few seconds of time, it's quite wierd when you look back at how games developed then, especially with the guys saying how RPGs are all about the content, rather than flashy looks.
Heh, apparently Sessler resigned from G4 on the 25th, he was the only reason I watched G4 once in a great while.
Heh, apparently Sessler resigned from G4 on the 25th, he was the only reason I watched G4 once in a great while.
Does G4 even exist anymore? I haven't watched it in years.
Where is the Kinect presentation
Does G4 even exist anymore? I haven't watched it in years.
G4? OH, you mean Spike TV 2. Yes it exists. ... unfortunately..
Oh man! Saw an advert for the Voodoo2 in the background, that was an awesome card.
No party games. This is amazing
Back when nerds actually looked like nerds.
Just the fact that they're reporting pc gaming at all feels weird now. I wish I was old enough to appreciate all this stuff back in 1999, was only 10 (although I played the shit out of battlezone)
Robin's accent was thicker and Gabe's voice was higher.

Sessler seems way more chilled the fuck out.
G4? OH, you mean Spike TV 2. Yes it exists.
uhhh i think you mean the Cops Network?
Eversince gaming became mainstream, it went to shit. I know how stupid that sounds, but it's true, and you know it.
"teym fawrthress two is a social multiplayer ackshun gaym" Oh god the AoE2 intro sequence, and Deus Ex, on beige CRTs! I feel old. [editline]28th April 2012[/editline]
Everything is less flashy too. Sessler seems way more chilled the fuck out.
Exactly this It looks cool in it's simplicity, with the stands not being too flashy and the whole thing looking like it's being run in some rented warehouse or something.
uhhh i think you mean the Cops Network?
Man, the Cops Network has been going downhill ever since they had to bring in that Ninja show and that really shitty gaming show with Kevin Pereira.
Eversince gaming became mainstream, it went to shit. I know how stupid that sounds, but it's true, and you know it.
gaming was mainstream ever since the Atari 2600 sold like crazy [editline]28th April 2012[/editline] lol some things do not change, i can see that based on the sequelitis complaint.
Eversince gaming became mainstream, it went to shit. I know how stupid that sounds, but it's true, and you know it.
*sigh* They really fucked it up, didn't they? [editline]29th April 2012[/editline]
gaming was mainstream ever since the Atari 2600 sold like crazy [editline]28th April 2012[/editline] lol some things do not change, i can see that based on the sequelitis complaint.
I think its the fact it went casual that fucked it up.
Oh my god I completely forgot about that. I'm in tears right now.
I hope those are tears of despair, because it wasn't even funny, just incredibly sad.
I think its the fact it went casual that fucked it up.
no i think it's the fact that people grow up and start hating stuff.
It's more of a "Developers and publishers saw money on casual games and violence-hungry twenty-somethings with a twenty second attention span and switched their market target to that"
violence-hungry twenty-somethings have always been their target market. [editline]28th April 2012[/editline] it's the easiest market to make games for.
violence-hungry twenty-somethings have always been their target market. [editline]28th April 2012[/editline] it's the easiest market to make games for.
Oh sure, but back in the 90's a lot of these companies were brand new startups that were doing it for fun, they produced some brilliant content. Now too many studios are at the whim of some monstrous publisher with mentaly deficient owners. Its probably not as bad as I'm making out, but I find myself digging through more and more shit to find the gems.
I was a little kid back then but god damn I just love that feeling of the old times, know what I am sayin?
OH GOD THE NOSTALGIA.
Fucking Battlezone 2. Has to be the best series ever made. Has the perfect mix of first person shooter and real time strategy. I put so many hours into the first battlezone (Which is now totally free to play and had the new 1.5 patch just released).
I miss the old days of gaming, when games were actually made to be fun, and the developers cared about the amount of content they needed to put into it to be able to sell it at the given price. Now, it's about how much they can get away with for $59.99 and still making a fuckton of money from it (MW3 for instance) Seriously, I wish I could just go back in time and live between 1995-2005ish and stay there forever and die of old age, it seems like those were the golden days of online gaming.
competition today wont accept an rpg thats all flash and no content, if only they held true to that now. (casualized rp games all around)
Ah man, Battlezone II - nostalgia hits again.
Holy shit I used to play that all the time as a kid. I miss it :<
I don't think there was a single bad game in there
So much innovation. Recent E3s fail to come even close to 1999's.
See, then it was dominated by developers with ideas. Now it's dominated by businesses who want money.
