Adam Sessler used to work for Gamespot?
First time I ever seen him was on X-Play.
Adam has been doing "X-Play" since 1998 but it wasn't always called X-Play obviously... i believe it was called gamespot-tv on ZDTV back then. sadly(only somewhat) Adam left G4TV, i think last Wednesday was his final appearance on X-Play
lmao the sad little 3do sign
The 3DO was great. I was lucky to have one. Sure they were $700 new, but worth it. Wing Commander was a great series, that played a bit like KOTOR, with live action sequences, and had some fairly big names, like Mark Hammil
And look, they're talking about dropping them an e-mail. No Facebook, No Twitter, No bullshit
I miss those days man
*sigh*
They really fucked it up, didn't they?

I think its the fact it went casual that fucked it up.
It went downhill long before that.
Fucking Battlezone 2.
Has to be the best series ever made. Has the perfect mix of first person shooter and real time strategy. I put so many hours into the first battlezone (Which is now totally free to play and had the new 1.5 patch just released).
Were can I get it? I've been dying to play Battlezone 1 again.

They've also got battlezone's little known expansion pack on there but It doesn't work with windows 7.

As in the whole game doesn't work with it? If so is there any way around that?
As in the whole game doesn't work with it? If so is there any way around that?
There's no known way to make the expansion work without getting major graphical glitches, but the original works fine.
Oh and the expansion is standalone.
Eversince gaming became mainstream, it went to shit.
I know how stupid that sounds, but it's true, and you know it.
I can't agree. I think last decade brought same damn good games and gaming experiences.
[editline]29th April 2012[/editline]
The industry has certainly changed, but those companies that delivered good games back during the 90s are still delivering good games. The indie scene has exploded and given us quite neat and cheap games. Technology has advanced to give us much more immense gaming experiences.
You can't say that the whole gaming industry went to shit just because certain companies are milking franchises or using lame methods to earn more cash.
Funny how realtime games today look better than pre-rendered stuff from back then. Imagine when we can have Pixar movie quality games in realtime. One can dream.
Probably already possible.
Was thinking more Pixar quality on our home computers and not some mega computer but you are probably right.
Age of Empires 2 and Star Wars Racer.
Wow.
Age of Empires 2 was the shit man,so many hours spent on that game
Oh man I remember spending days on Star Trek: Armada, such good memories of playing these games, even though I was just five or six years old when they were released.

I disagree completely, without gaming going mainstream a ton of good stuff would never have come about, the big E-Sports scene that has risen up would never have seen the light of day, and a lot of amazing titles wouldn't have been released. I would even say that huge LAN events that take place across the globe wouldn't ever have happened if gaming hadn't become "mainstream", it has really allowed communities to grow and develop into something amazing.
Sure there is a lot of shit that gets released to appeal to a wider audience but you have every right to just ignore that stuff, instead focus on the incredible amount of amazing titles that are coming out.
Where the hell are you people seeing Robin and Gabe? I didn't see them in the video.
Funny how the games back in the 90's had more fun and interesting gameplay.
Gabe's in part 3.

It's probably possible with current tech, devs just haven't started working with it yet.

Robin's early in part 2 talking about TF2, and Gabe's at the end of part 3.
I still play AoE2 with a friend at school because it's all our laptops can handle :v:
Also because it is the shit
CoD4, Super Mario Galaxy, Bioshock, Dirt, Crysis, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, Mass Effect, Rock Band, Skate, The Orange Box, Holy Shit I Feel Old, Halo 3, Super Paper Mario, TESIV Shivering Isles, God of War 2, Crackdown
I just want another 2007
I wasn't old enough in 1999 to really understand this stuff, but looking at it now it seems like Valve is the only developer/publisher to hang on to their ideals and values.

I love it when he says it will make it really hard to pirate the dreamcast (In reality it isn't).
I remember playing Quake back then, I nostalgia'd so hard.
TF2 didn't exactly take 7/8 years to make it was a totally different game back in 1999 it's pretty much safe to say they started a completely new game and scraped the 1999 TF2.Thank god that happened.
[editline]30th April 2012[/editline]
Compare OP's Video to E3 2011 what a load of shit, gimmicky crap, embarrassing, barely anything about games people talking about stuff no one cares about like xbox current business proceedings.

Assuming the released iteration of TF2 started development in 2003 (When it was leaked), it still took quite a bit of time in development.

Two Words: Valve Time.
Two Words: Valve Time.
Eh, not completely true.
The released iteration of Half Life 2 was developed in about a year, right after they scrapped the leaked 2003 iteration.
Well, it was built off a lot of things from the 2003 leak iteration, but my point stands.
and scraped the 1999 TF2.Thank god that happened.
fuck that, i was really looking forward to TF2, even though it was such a big change to the series. then we ended up getting some slow, casual, trading simulator.

What
TF2 before cosmetic items was about as good as a class based multiplayer FPS can get

maybe if you pretended like the older team fortresses never existed, but then again 90% of players in tf2 dont even know what QWTF is(or even TFC)
Oh god, I forgot how long Team Fortress 2 was in development. It's a completely different game.
