As for control lag, I used PS3 controller for racing games like TDU2 and I never noticed any button push to actual action lag using the PS3 controller and the motioninjoy software.
PS3 controllers were also designed specifically FOR the USB interface. I'm talking about stuff like PS2 controllers, or Gamecube controllers, or even old school NES/SNES controllers.

I was going on the assumption that if one was going to do serious emulation they would pick up a current generation controller, which is also what I thought you were talking about when you were mentioning control lag. [editline]15th September 2012[/editline] I do agree that using a previous generation controller (gamecube, PS2/1, xbox original) would probably cause some lag.
I remember playing JJ2 on this demo disk that had like 10 different demos on it. I replayed that thing like 20 times.
I thought they were talking about playing emulated games using the original controller; maybe that was a misunderstanding on my part.
Yeah, I would want to play on an original controller. I mean, the controller is a really an important part to the 'feel' of the game... for me, at least. I'll do some research on the available controllers... surely someone makes controllers just for emulators, right?
This still cracks me up
Haha. I totally forgot about that. What a lovely face I'm making.

The Jazz Jackrabbit video brought back many memories. I remember my oldest brother ordering the CD by mail after we played the shareware version thoroughly. While I agree with just about all of the review, especially the zoomed in camera, I disagree on the part about enemies in impossible to shoot places. You just need to take advantage of all the different ammo types. And if you do Jazz Jackrabbit 2, you should try out multiplayer on it. The online community for JJ2 is surprisingly still alive. And playing the story in co-op is always fun. I used to play it with my brother as Jazz on the keyboard, and myself as Spaz on this:
He's streaming http://www.twitch.tv/brutalmoose
Anyone got tips for making TwitchTV a better browsing experience? Before I was struggling to make an account to comment on a different streamer, now I'm having issues watching Brute play one of my favourite old games.

You click a button and put your info in to sign up, same as every site on the internet and watching is even easier, you seriously just have to click the link posted by Stinky.

I get to the site, I login, yet everything else loads except for the video, that is the issue I'm having. Chatbox works fine, everything works fine apart from that.
Hey, sorry for not posting my stream here I forgot :( If anyone showed up, I hope you enjoyed yourself!
You also forgot to mention that you were a guest on TyTy's podcast yesterday. That was fun.

If you want to emulate SNES games while maintaining a more "original" control method use a PS3 controller. It's essentially a SNES controller if you use the D-Pad and using it on emulators on my laptop feels pretty much the same as when I use my SNES controller.
Hey brutalmoose. How did you get the amount of subs and recurring views you have now? Like other than good content because theres like a bamillion videos on youtube so its kinda like a grain of rice on the pile if you wait for views to come your way.

It reached the top of the MW3 reddit, and was posted on Monster Energy Gaming's Facebook and Twitter. After that I was pretty under the radar, up until this thread started, and I got a huge boost in subscribers from Facepunch. I also get a good amount of subscribers from Screwattack, where I'm a suggested show, and a few of my videos have been front paged. Nowadays, in between releasing videos, I still manage a few subscribers a day, and I assume that comes from word of mouth, or stumbling across my videos through YouTube's related section. I know that occasionally I'll pop up on the sidebar for a Game Grumps video, and 'WTF is...' as well. Really, I think most of my traffic comes from my fans sharing my videos. Word of mouth is pretty powerful.

And in part how CoD keeps selling; lots of people play it and defend it vigilantly. On another note, did you send in an application to TGS? Or are you not big enough?
On another note, did you send in an application to TGS? Or are you not big enough?
I haven't applied to TGS. I'm not really sure how big a channel needs to be to have a chance of getting accepted there, so I've held off on applying for now.
