Well this certainly is an interesting development, I reckon I'll be hanging in this thread more often now. Anyone who knows what I've been working on lately will know what I'm getting at. ;) [editline]21st February 2013[/editline] also brutalmoose I think your videos are fantastic, don't stop doing them any time soon :D

Moose, whatya think of the Playstation 4?
Moose, whatya think of the Playstation 4?
I really wonder what it's going to look like. But really, I mean.. you don't sell a console to me with specs (though they are important), you sell it with exclusives. If Watch Dogs was a PS4 exclusive, I'd be sold. But it isn't. Admittedly, I didn't catch all of the conference due to class, but what I've read about is just like... I don't have a reason to want to buy it yet. I'd buy it before I bought a Wii U, though, that's for sure. And I gotta say, it's sad that we're moving even further away from 'on the same couch' multiplayer. This whole 'hand a controller off to your friend over the internet' thing... I mean, for long distance sure, I guess. Just kind of sad to see that era of multiplayer even further out the door.
And that used to be one of the big upsides to console gaming, having your friends there to play on the same couch.
well, there's still games being made that utilize that well, like littlebigplanet, you don't know jack, castle crashers, SSBB, stuff like that. online gaming has pretty much become the main focus for multiplayer but same-couch local multiplayer can still be good, even if it isn't the norm anymore.
Super Smash and Mario Party are my all time favorite games for playing on the couch with friends.
That Media Molecule Punch And Judy Simulator seemed like it encouraged people to play in the same living room, since you'd need to to get the puppets to interact. Honestly, that was my favourite game of the show, even ahead of Watch Dogs, since I feel Watch Dogs is going to make the mistake of having the interactive things be either very shallow or patchy. That Marionette thing is Media Molecule doing what they do, make games which wouldn't normally be accepted outside the most selective of Indie circles with a AAA budget.
oh shit, i just watched the restaurant empire video and completely forgot about those scholastic catalogues. then i remembered that i actually bought restaurant empire from one. i forgot what that fucking game was called. thanks brutalmoose
After reading what the whole Spoony affair exactly was about, I gotta say, I'm happy there's Brutalmoose.
After reading what the whole Spoony affair exactly was about, I gotta say, I'm happy there's Brutalmoose.
What are you talking about?
anyone find it funny how pc companies like valve are trying to bring pc gaming to the couch, while companies like Sony and Microsoft are doing the opposite?
anyone find it funny how pc companies like valve are trying to bring pc gaming to the couch, while companies like Sony and Microsoft are doing the opposite?
does this even mean anything of course they're bringing the consoles to the couch, they were already there
Super Smash and Mario Party are my all time favorite games for playing on the couch with friends.
That's why the N64 rules so hard. Great singleplayer experiences, and awesome multiplayer games. Been waiting for it for so long... I'm so excited. Granted, it didn't help sell the PS4 to me, though, I'll still be getting it for PC.
anyone find it funny how pc companies like valve are trying to bring pc gaming to the couch, while companies like Sony and Microsoft are doing the opposite?
I'm not sure I understand your point. Steam is moving to the living room, but I don't see Sony and Microsoft moving away from it.
does this even mean anything of course they're bringing the consoles to the couch, they were already there
Pretty much.

I miss Myst :( I wish the cavcon meter hit 5 in myst online, it's at 2.5 right now. I think I might get the game just because I miss myst so badly.
What are you talking about?
Basically what I mean is I love that Butalmoose doesn't have a giant ego like some internet celebrities do.
Basically what I mean is I love that Butalmoose doesn't have a giant ego like some internet celebrities do.
Oh yeah. Well, people constantly telling you you are great will eventually inflate anyone's ego.
Oh yeah. Well, people constantly telling you you are great will eventually inflate anyone's ego.
Quick, everyone tell him that he's lame
The worst part about this regression from "YEAH! FOUR PLAYER SPLITSCREEN!" is that it's obviously companies who want everyone to spend $400+$60 per game (plus online costs) each rather than have one person get a PS4 and a game and share it with 1-7 other friends (I don't know if the maximum is still 8? I remember some PS1/2 games had support for 2 full multitaps.)
you're lame brutalmoose sorry but you're shit [sp] keep making videos but [/sp]
