There is no winner. Both have their positives and negatives. They are different and should be enjoyed together. Jeez why is this concept so hard to grasp.
Because there will always be arguments within an art form about the best way it should be viewed or read or what ever. Since games are pretty much a very young art form people will argue about the best way they can be portrayed.

Most console games run at 600p to just under 720p which is then upscaled to 1080p, for example Reach runs at 1152x720 and Cod: Black Ops runs at 1040x608.

Actually, an 32" HDTV is about $200-300. If you want a smaller one, they're under $150. Console games aren't necessarily $60 if you want to shop online. And controllers are about $30.

The controls have nothing to do with whether console systems are better, you could easily use the controllers on a computer, and a mouse and keyboard on consoles.
This whole argument over how the controls are easier is invalid, due to the fact that different people find different things easier. I ,for example, prefer a mouse and keyboard.
The argument "You need to upgrade your PC for newer games or they will run like crap!" is invalid as a reason to buy a console.
Yes, you may not be able to run the game at the highest graphics settings, but it would [i]still[/i] look better than the console equivalent.
Until a new console gets released, any game on your PC should always look/play better.
The one tecnhnological advantage consoles have, is that the games can can be performance-tuned really well, since the hardware is fixed.
