In game development you drop and add features all the time.
The difference being is that he promised them though. If he didn't promise them it wouldn't be as big a problem especially since the things he promised weren't really hard to put in the game and weren't in the game mostly because of laziness. I mean really some of the things he promised he would put in would have been so easy to put in that it would take a novice programmer a few hours to do.
So much hate all of a sudden.
I remember back when Minecraft was in Alpha, and whenever someone said something negative about Minecraft they'd be bombarded with being called dumb. Now most people are shifting to the "Minecraft is nothing special" bandwagon.
Minecraft could have been so much more amazing, but the sales and money Notch was making off of it already wasn't giving them an incentive to keep making it better.
And that makes me sad.
Everyone's a critic. I think Notch did pretty ok. He's not the next Carmack or Molyneux or anything like that
Honestly, if he really tried, listened to the community more, and stopped taking a vacation every other day, he could have been. He is the very definition of small indie gone big, and it could have went amazingly well from there.
how do i get a refund for my purchase of minecraft
notch give me back my money
While he does bring up a few good points, I still end up playing the game for hours on end

Also, diamond is harder to find than this guy makes it out to be
Everything has been said before me.
I bought it in alpha phase for one reason and one reason only: so I wouldn't have to pay for future updates.
I bought it in alpha state too, but what if notch will say something like "Whoops, everyone who bought the game in alpha, now have to pay for updates too!"
Perfect review.
Most minecraft fans are too conceited to accept the things said in the review. Maybe it's because they followed the game for 3 years and they have some sort of archaic oath to stay loyal to it, I don't know. I've been supporting minecraft for the potential rpg direction it would of taken and I have always seen the lack of appeal in the fucking build servers. Every suggestion I've made similar to the video's I pretty much feel has been shot down and I'm glad somebody said actually said SOMETHING. Deserved some standing up to and he is for the most part right, even though his first review of it was mindless bashing.
The conceit was also due to the disillusionment that the fans wasted money on a game that didn't meet the expectations and promises.
wat is that game anyway? i'm sorry i can't relate with this game..:(
This game doesn't even look worth buying
