The makeup is nothing alike, they all scaly and reptilian,
the aliens in this one are smooth with ridges.
wouldnt be the first time they redesigned an alien species

this is how they depicted remans in star trek nemisis its a pretty vast change
I accidentally posted a picture of a Jem'hadar. I edited my post.
The Remans were never seen outside of Nemesis, except in the background of a couple episodes of Enterprise, where they used the same makeup.
Further support for the new aliens being remans is that the woman in the trailer has similar tatoos to nero so is likely romulan/future romulan also the current romulans havent been introduced and they used the remans as shock troops/fodder in the jem'hadar war. so is it really so unlikely that the new aliens cant actually be a suprise attack by the romulans using the remans as the spearhead for a larger invasion? im not saying they are just putting in my 2 cents
She looks nothing like damn romulan. We've seen romulans already.

so the EXTREMLY similar facial tatoos are just a coincidence?
in cinema when something is that blatant its usally not

Who says the markings Sofia's character has are tattoos? Probably a distinct racial trait, like Trill spots.
Romulans in JJverse only have tattoos mainly on their forehead, not all over their face or to the extent that the aforementioned new character has.

In that instance, it is because they had a bigger budget in the first movie, so they made the Klingons look less human.

Didn't they joke about it in DS9 when they went back in time, and then explained it in Enterprise? Like they used Khan's blood or DNA or something to make them stronger, but as a side effect it made them look human? Been awhile since I watched them.
They tried to reverse engineer salvaged augment embryo's to give them enchanced abilities but it turned into a lethal contagion on top of giving them human features.
Probably one of the few good ENT arcs
One of the Klingons they were augmenting had a virus that got augmented along with him.
It was the mixture of Human DNA that caused the head ridges to go flat.

Whats funny is the answer is a combination of two the suggested reasons in DS9, Viral Mutation and Genetic manipulation.

We don't talk about that with outsiders.
Really Enterprise is in these movies just so they can use some fancy special effects and blown it up.
And dammit it, enough about Kirk's father, enough about his inner struggles, explore the strange new worlds already and move on.
But Kirk us only fun if he has daddy issues
Remember the deep narrative in TOS about Kirk not being his dad enough?
Man this trailer actually got me hyped up
Amongst all the voices shouting "this looks great!" and "this looks like shit!" I'm left here thinking that it looks decidedly okay. :pudge:
Pretty much, if you're looking for an action movie, this'll probably scratch the itch. If you're looking for Star Trek, look elsewhere.
I doubt it. I'm guessing it's smaller and more agile. Might be a museum piece or something they dragged out of mothballs.

This is the small ship in the trailer, well at least a concept piece of it.

Besides the lack of Beastie Boys, I don't think this trailer is actually any better than the last one. At least that one didn't really pretend not to be a goofy action, but this one takes a half-hearted stab at "look, there's people talking about things!" in between turning my brain off with explosions, motorcycle chases, cliffhangers, motorcycle jumps, and oh they blew up the Enterprise again.
oh they blew up the Enterprise again.
Again? This is only the first time in the new series, and only the third time in all the movies.
Again? This is only the first time in the new series, and only the third time in all the movies.
Coulda sworn it got blown up some other time.
Coulda sworn it got blown up some other time.
Well technically in the first movie it didn't blow up completely, and they managed to crash what was left of it into ground.

This will be the third time the Enterprise is destroyed in a feature film:
[sp]Star Trek 3: Search for Spock - Destroyed by self destruct
Star Trek 7: Generations: Destroyed by Warp core breach, saucer crashes into planet[/sp]
And this upcoming film.

Ops, you are right, it was the other ship with Khan in it. My mistake.
