• The difference between GameTrailers and GiantBomb

The problem is Giant Bomb is made up of grown men that have things like dignity and self respect so they don't chimp around a set like a bunch of monkeys when a cgi trailer for a remake is released.
To be fair, half of Giant Bomb has been doing game journalism since years before Final Fantasy 7 was even out. This is what not having childhood nostalgia for Final Fantasy 7 looks like.
While some of it is possibly nostalgia, I'd argue most of it is because they know their target demographic and play up to it. I grew up when FF7 was IN and i never really bought into it so i don't give a damn but i have friends who lived and breathed that shit for a number of years and hanging around them talking about it day in day out. Yeah i suppose i can see the appeal. That said there have been plenty of games that i loved as a kid and was hyped as fuck at seeing remakes and sequels too but I never acted like a giddy little school kid over them. I guess ultimately while i keep myself 'composed' i don't really give a damn if others lose their shit cause i understand what this means, FF7 was the game of many a youth and a chance to recapture that experience even if only for a couple of hours is something we all would like to do, people who played FF7 are likely mid to late 20's even 30, working 40 hours a week , it's just a nice feeling to go fuck this I'm a 10 year old again.
That's not a problem, I'd much rather watch that over whatever GT is doing.
I probably didn't make it clear but I meant the 'the problem' is part as a joke. Like its a problem for people that like GT because they want their game journalists be a bunch of childish manbabies.
I found the GT response cringe-worthy or at least stupid not because they were excited about FF7 (or anything for that matter) but because of the way they expressed their excitement. I don't care how much you care about something or how excited you get, I would still find it childish and stupid to start screaming and jumping up and down a chair or table. This is not you having your first kid, and even then I would feel sorry for the child whose parents celebrate his/her birth by screaming and acting like 12 year olds. I don't really give a shit about the Giantbomb reaction either way though.
Yeah, let's shame people for being passionate about their hobby and their beloved franchises.
except they looked like a horde of chimps, one even climbed his fucking chair
The GameTrailers reaction is why so many people think that gaming is childish. They're acting like 10 year olds on a fucking sugar rush. Painfully forced.
you mean patrick and alex, right
Patrick left Giantbomb to work for Kotaku at the end of last years Game of the Year awards. It was an amazing day.
