Why is GoPro so cheap when compared to other cameras on the market? Maybe I will buy this camera instead of a Canon DSLR camera.

It's the best sports/adventure camera out there for sure though
Really want a GoPro for kayaking but they're pretty expensive :[
I love GoPro, but it sucks that they keep raising the price of their top end model, it's gonna cost about 400-500$, 480 euro's where I live ($600). On the other hand, They are introducing a budget model, the Hero! It's gonna be way waaaay cheaper! 1080p 30fps, $150
Damn I love the "adventure" approach to the new ad. The last two has been sportmans doing their sport things with some elecronic music background. They're good but this is better. I knew it was the right choice to wait out the Hero3 and 3+. Might actually get this one.
Whenever I think of gopro now I think of that really fucked up ISIS video where they back up into a town and shoot everything
I love woodkid so much holy shit gopros are okay too I guess
Lets just hope that the video encoder isn't shite [editline]30th September 2014[/editline] Also, I can see storage being an issue
might get one to supplement video shooting with my Gh4 actually It's always super handy to have 2-3 gopros out on a shoot [editline]30th September 2014[/editline]
Lets just hope that the video encoder isn't shite [editline]30th September 2014[/editline] Also, I can see storage being an issue
4k actually doesn't take a ton of space. I can take 2 hours of 100mb/s 4k video on a 128gb sd card, and I assume the gopros might compress it a little more than DSLRs and cine cameras
This is from a Hero3 Black Edition, the photographic value of the camera isn't that great. It's the best sports/adventure camera out there for sure though
Plus, they don't even have a viewfinder unless you pay $100 for an LCD addon
Plus, they don't even have a viewfinder unless you pay $100 for an LCD addon
the $400 GoPro Hero 4 has a built-in touch screen (but that version shoots in only 1080p)

I've been wanting a hero 3 for a while now so the price drop will be perfect. [editline]30th September 2014[/editline] or I buy a chinese knock-off but yeah... I'm not feeling like doing so :v:
The problem I always see with real. non-commercial footage is the shakiness. These might be taken with GPH4s but they are sure as fuck on some special mount.
I've always wanted a gopro but i don't go outside much to warrant buying one.
The problem I always see with real. non-commercial footage is the shakiness. Sort of like downsampling PC games
It's kinda implied that everything in the commercial was shot with a GoPro, but I must admit that I have a hard time believing that - seems like they were splicing GoPro footage with other footage. Anyway, looks amazing - especially the iceberg climbing.

Wow that advert. Step 1: buy a drone and gopro step 2: be rich and a show-off
Why upload an ad advertising that the camera has 4k recording when the Youtube video itself is 720p. This isn't the first time I've seen a company do this also
You´re using the HTML5 Player. It does not support resolution above 1280*720.
These commercials are so awesome but the fact of the matter is you will literally never do anything as awesome as these people, and even if you do you won't have these amazing angles and rigs. This commercial cost millions of dollars to make. What you get is some really shakey footage of your amateur hiking, biking, wakeboarding, whatever. Then it runs out of space/battery after getting like 30 minutes of footage. The angles are all crud and the motion blur and the shakiness makes it look super lame.

You don't have to be rich to go to festivals like Tomorrowland or watch the sunset from the beach, etc.
Why is GoPro so cheap when compared to other cameras on the market? Video at high FPS and to take a beating.
Little off-topic, but is anyone else just astounded at how high quality videos are now compared to 5 years ago?
I'll buy one for my father.
As with all devices, just wait till the first batches with errors get ironed out.
I remember my first rescue attempt for an orca tangled in a fishing line.
Did GoPro really use footage of Yakuza mob bosses and their Lamborghinis
Whenever I think of gopro now I think of that really fucked up ISIS video where they back up into a town and shoot everything
Can't find that video anymore, if someone have it link it please.
Think they tangled the Orca in the fishing line just for the video?
