Gonna be honest here, I will not be surprised if this game flopped and flopped hard.
The only examples of Comedy games actually working ok to me are games like Saints Row 2, and Bulletstorm.
And that's mostly because of the absurdity and sheer ridiculousness of them both. Saints Row 2 in how subtle it took itself, even if the main character is dressed as a fat tranny beating up waves of pimps with a crowbar.
And Bulletstorm for all the points gained from all different kinds of kills.
I'm expected a super cheesy pretty badly written game full of terrible jokes.
I am completely okay with that as I'll love every second of it.

Deadpool was never funny, he was just amusing. I mean what other feeling would you feel when someone speaks to YOU from a TV, other than amusement?
After you get used to it, which takes a while, it's not really amusing anymore.

Like, it'll be toned down in the game, but for the sake of 4th wall-ey breaky action that they've been going for since the announcement when advertising the game, its like this.
Also, i mean...Deadpool pretty much [I]embodies[/I] lolrandom humour. Lolrandom can still be funny if, ironically, it's done right.

uh there was no gameplay released at all, i think youre pulling shit out of your ass. and the developers have said its more like a hack n slash then a shooter, i seriously dont see the connection with duke nukem forever at all, this game was just announced a YEAR ago. forever was announced over a decade ago.

Daniel Way's Deadpool run is probably the only completely loldumb one, unfortunately it also happens to be the most popular
I'm expecting a well thought-out deconstruction of videogaming as a form of entertainment but I know I'll be disappointed.

What about Portal 2 and godhand, both have very heavy comedy themes that pay off well

portal 2 has some pretty dark themes too, though. i think saints row 2 is more focused on comedy.

Yeah, but this is just... Awful looking. There is trying hard, and then there is trying too hard.
Hopefully the team making the game and the people marketing it don't share the same writers.
