I never said that Tumblr is entirely composed of people and communities that are like that, or even that they are majority there. They exist. And I have issue with them, not Tumblr as a whole.

I'm probably the only one who thinks both places are trash but have some parts that are genuinely chill to hang out at.

However, when you laugh at a clown there's no need to point out "hahaha wow this guy is such an idiot" the clown does a pretty good job of showing that himself. By adding smug commentary to his videos, the guy shows himself as a beacon of reason among a sea of ignorance, whereas he could show the same message simply by making a video showing tumblr silliness without having to add his douchebag attitude into it.
