Well that certainly was an interesting experience.
One of the few times I didn't regret going past the first page of a SJW-related thread
i haven't touched this thread because i knew exactly what was going to happen but; did somebody actually use "hugbox" literally? like when somebody said hugbox they thought a literal hugbox machine?

I and many other long-term internet users knew what you all meant when you said "hugbox", but to be fair to the resident SJWs the cover image for the "Hugbox Chronicles" video does actually feature a "hug machine" on it.

I don't 100% agree with the word trigger, but Tumblr is a place where a lotta people who do kinda have all those thoughts of self-hatred and godknowswhatelse go to find support and escape from that stuff. I personally think the word trigger should be limited to people with actual PTSD, other people just get reminded of bad shit and maybe sometimes feel bad emotions or have their mood soiled, but they aren't having extreme flashbacks or anything like that. Most people on there don't have a ton of followers and don't follow a ton of people either - the majority aren't attentionwhoring, they're just using the word 'trigger' to mean 'reminded'.
People who're talking about gifs: while yeah, chances are, most people see them and either click away or get bummed out or whatever, there's gonna be the small chance that somebody won't be in their right state of mind. It's easy to shrug off a gif when you're in your healthy mind, but some people aren't in their right mind and sometimes they don't realise until it's too late - not saying people kill themselves over a gif, but it doesn't take a lot to put somebody in to a mood to self-harm or lose a lot of sleep. They visit Tumblr because, if you're looking for somebody to relate to, chances are you'll find them in a heartbeat there - but then dumb shit like this 4chan shit gets pulled off and then dumbasses from both websites start spouting off and going batshit insane.
The straw that broke the camel's back is pretty much what I'm getting at. Some people are literally that close. It's crazy.

The majority of 4chan users involved in this shit lack common sense and empathy and the majority of Tumblr users who are actually retaliating with 'attack 4chan' etc lack common sense and the ability to fact-check and realise how minor of an impact 4chan would have if everybody just kept their heads screwed on. It's the internet.
