When you are at the mentality that you need to spend 3k on a computer to play pc games your tech will always be considered out of date in months by you and the community that surrounds it.

At $3000 I'd expect this PC to be from Falcon Northwest or some other company like that and not CyberPowerPC which I though was considered a mid/lowend builder.

The Megatextures are big... "collages" of textures stored in these "pages" The engine then looks into these pages each time a new area is loaded and applies the textures in the page to objects in the environment. This process takes a lot of processing power and you can use the GPU to do that processing. It's on a program by program basis because it's only related to games running on IdTech5.

i dont understand how one can fuck up so badly i have a computer that's almost constantly running Source Filmmaker, Maya (32bit), Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects, as well as some general stuff and a shit-ton of tabs, and I don't get slowdowns for shit, let alone 100% CPU useage.

Are you running Maya in 32bit to run those plugins valve did for the sfm?

Didn't read all of the thread, but if he streams console gameplay does that not mean he has a capture card? Can he not use the capture card on his PC to stream as well?
