Dear fuck you're a retard.

is this a joke?
what :v:
[editline]18th May 2016[/editline]
Why are you saying this?
What compelled this thought?
Tell me exactly what you have seen of the movie? Oh you mean like the fucking two minutes worth of scenes total, split between a couple trailers, revealing virtually no plot and a handful of jokes out of probably dozens total? Dunno why yopu're arguing this at all, the original two are amazing in their own right, but they are thirty years old and Harold Ramis is dead. Dunno why having a reboot with an all female cast is so offensive to your sensibilities.

A trailer is supposed to make you want to see a movie. Being able to tell that a trailer is absolute trash doesn't make you a sexist lol
You know how everyone gets pissed when a trailer has only the good jokes/parts in it and you're kind of pissed off when you actually see the movie? I assume the parts in this trailer are the "good/funny parts" so I can only imagine what the actual movie will be like :v:

Amazing that you think I hate it because of it's all female cast, but that's not at all the case. It's nice of you to assume off that bad that I'm just another dumb sexist though. Thanks for misjudging me.
I love the idea of an all female cast, but this is embarrassing. The trailer clearly shows how much the movie jokes about them being females, and it makes it extremely uncomfortable
Instead of having a really powerful female lead, someone who is strong willed, intelligent, and bold
[t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/3c/Janeway_Season7.jpg[/t]
(Janeway is easily the 2nd best captain out there, don't care what other people think. She is a model leader, and better than Kirk)
they have female leads that just reinforce really terrible stereotypes. "Just look at that BLACK PERSON acting all black, haha, isn't that FUNNY?!"
The reason I think the movie is an embarrassment is because everything I've heard about it makes it seem like it's in development hell and ignores the source material outright. Hell, the source material doesn't even play on their gender, they're just a bunch of awkward dudes. The reboot's trailers alone blatantly shows how much they play on the characters gender and makes it this big thing.
Funny that you would complain about people judging based on a trailer and then also judge people based on 1 post.
-lol misread that-

Oh. I just don't like it because Paul Feig is a talentless hack fraud who couldn't write a decent piece of funny dialogue with a gun to his head.
I guess that makes me sexist. darn

No but dude, alien ghosts. It's a billion dollar idea!
No because no one watched Ghosts of Mars.
What we really need is an angry birds ghostbusters crossover

it's fake fan art, actually (99.99% sure)
Still like how they portray Hemsworth's character as a dumb male who gets possessed.
Most would turn around and say "they had a ditzy female secretary in the original!" despite her being the most level-headed of the entire group.
Yes, the original Ghostbusters would never include a dumb male who gets possessed
[t]http://overmental.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/rick-moranis-ghostbusters.jpg[/t]
The CGI is awful, the jokes in the trailer are awful, and if the script leaks are to believed, it's going to be a train wreck of bad jokes & poor cameos. I'm not even too attached to the original Ghostbusters but I feel bad for anyone that was looking for a great female depiction of the Ghostbusters.
As with most of the times when this gender swap stuff happens, any attempt to promote female empowerment gets laughed off because every time this happens, no effort is put in and when criticism comes in, they write you off as a sexist. Shit like this is beyond counter productive if you want to mitigate sexism.
I was thinking about checking out the ghostbusters comics at some point.

That's a variant cover, basically an optional alternate cover that's a gag unrelated to the content of the book.
Read the IDW Ghostbusters comics, they're really good.
are you seriously trying to pin criticism of what we've seen of this movie on people being sexist
is this sarcasm
what :v:
If you didn't like the joke at :55 you are probably racist too. I really hope theaters establish safe space screenings so I don't have to put up with all these racist and sexist shitlords criticizing my kickass girl power movie.
So the leaked posts turned out to be completely correct in terms of the plot.
And good grief, the scene where the guy gets possessed is the least dramatic thing they could have done for something with so much opportunity.
That hilarious joke
"UHHH I DONT KNOW IF IT WAS A RACE THING OR A LADY THING"
doesn't even make any sense since the other "ghost buster" was crowd surfing beforehand.
I think we can all agree that the ghost in the library scene has the correct reaction to this movie.

I'm not even angry
Just sad and disappointed.
Dear god, this movie is the physical embodiment of trying too hard.
Why couldnt they have taken an easier route and turn this into a movie instead of rebuilding one?
The sad thing is, there's a rumor going around that Melissa McCarthy only joined on because she thought it was going to be in the same vein as the show and pushed for it until she got shot down by everyone. Shame it didn't end up that way
All the debate about this movie is insane because it looks so mindblowingly average
And yet it's become a battleground of gender politics
Try going back and watch the movies maybe? Rick Moranis' character is literally dumb as shit and is amazing because of it, and better yet, he even gets possessed in the first one lol. You're gonna try and tell me it's some feminist consipracy to make men look dumb in the new one when it is essentially just reworking a part of the plot from the first, using it's source material as inspiration just as any good reboot should do?
Marketing are making a massive deal about how the whole female cast/crew aspect and then the only man shown in any footage is a complete dunce. Literally all the jokes involving him are about how dumb he is.
Rick Moranis' best moments weren't centered around him being dim.
Say what you will and call everyone sexist. The jokes they've shown belong in an Adam Sandler film and the whole rocky development/behind the scenes aspects of this make it deplorable. I don't give a flying fuck about whether it's an all female cast or not, I care about a Ghostbusters film having the right kind of humor that isn't pandering and messy and I especially don't want this cheap attempt at appealing to a target audience by being so blunt and shoving it in your face.
The right way to be inclusive is to write good characters/story and not excessively focus on the fact that some is X gender/race. Like it's so hilariously obvious that they're making the cast all female as a marketing decision not because they found some good actresses who fit the role.

Was this ever explicitly made known though? I think the movie looks like hot garbage but I think this a cynical analysis based on what I've read, that it basically started as one persons cool "What if they were women instead of men?" pet project and eventually mutated into the mess we have today.

I wonder if this movie flops will that be the end to sony pictures ? because lately everything els is a failure
I still find it incredible that despite all the "girl power" marketing surrounding the movie and all the arguments around the full female cast, they still wrote the only black woman in the team to be a bumbling fucking moron who's a walking stereotype.
There's nothing wrong with writing comic relief characters who are just here to be stupid and provide humor but why did it have to be a stereotypical sassy black woman who screams at things with eyes so wide open her eyeballs may just pop off.
I wonder if this movie flops will that be the end to sony pictures ? because lately everything els is a failure
From the marketing scheme that the videos above touched on, seeing the comment section on the trailers, and the discussions on Twitter posts, I very much doubt this movie will flop over completely. At best I will say when the numbers are reported in full, it will underperform to Sony's expectations.
