Yeah but I still don't know what she sounds like as Bubbles.
I'd imagine her regular voice but more squeaky.
I guess it seems okay, but i'm not really liking Buttercup's voice and the art style looks like it came from Adventure Time/Regular Show/Ect.. I think it'd be better if they had a different art style.
About the art style, may i remind you that even in 1990/early 2000 most of the cartoons shared the art style with thick lines, square-ish shapes and lineless backgrounds? It's just how it goes today, and who knows, another art style may become popular in the next 10 years.
Can't say if Buttercup's voice is good because i always watched them in my country's dub, but overall looks better than the Dance Pantsed special
the reason all of the animation styles are similar is that the showrunners of all of the shows on CN right now worked on one show at the beginning of their career or another show that was pitched by people who worked on that show and it shaped their art styles. If you get the showrunners to draw the characters in their own art style, they still look the same
Yeah, it's like with Craig McCracken and Lauren Faust, Wander Over Yonder for example looks exactly like a 90s cartoon

Sounds like someone forgot to apply some compression on that loud sound effect :hurr:
Personally I liked Chowder and Flapjack, and thought Ben 10 sucked.
[editline]12th February 2016[/editline]
And then they did like an "all grown up" version of Ben 10.
this shit looks like a newgrounds flash movie from fucking 2003
I'm so fucking sick of that low-effort art style. All of these shows blend together, and this just looks like it's cashing in on the success of Powerpuff Girls plus roping in any of the Steven Universe/other show fans because of the style.
I was actually pretty interested in this show reboot but by just this little clip alone all my interest vanished. Why would they go out of their way to make the powerpuff girls look like the old style but not bother with the rest of the show? :v: it looks like some bad crossover spin off. It doesn't blend together well
i heard a whip crack. hide the johnny test fans.
It's different, that's for sure. I'm willing to wait for a full episode to see where it goes. The voice is kinda fitting for a Buttercup, just gonna take some times to adjust to that.
Kinda worried if they bring Mojo back and he sounds...less cool.
Is it possible they miscast Blossom's VA for Buttercup?
Compare the new Buttercup to old Blossom.

Maybe another reason it is like that is so they can easily do cross overs later on without having to change anything. :v:
From the very first second I am already incredibly worried.
Here's a compilation of Powerpuff Girls characters and characters from a newer CN show that I don't actually follow, but must be fairly popular because it was at the top of the recommendation sidebar for me while watching this video.

Now, if you had absolutely no idea about either of these shows besides occasional passing glances every now and then, which program would you assume this guy came from?
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/CiRqw6O.jpg[/img_thumb]
You can't even reason the dissonance away by saying that it's a new character concept and thus is going into untreaded territory with it's creation, because the PPG universe already has a rough, brutish, old-fashioned and kind of dim redneck. He looks like this:

And when he gets riled up, like the new guy is in that clip, he looks like this
[img_thumb]http://mlpg.co/arc/q/raw/scrubbing_bubbles/wind_breaker/src/1347689981464.jpg[/img_thumb]
It just bothers me that he doesn't have hands.
Even Popeye had a distinguishable hand, this lumberjack guy just has nubs coming out of his forearms.
Completely off-topic, but I recently read through a very dark "re-imagining" of the PPG some guy on DevianTart made and thought I'd share. The art is pretty good at the very least.

Oh jesus.
Oh fuck.
Now, this isnt confirmed but with the state of Cartoon Network, you cant be too sure these days.
[sp]Theres apparently a villain in the new show named Gamer Gator.
For the love of god someone please prove this wrong. [/sp]

If it's real, then it's probably a coincidence. I don't think CN would want to get involved.

Wont stop the internet hordes from using it in the way we are all hoping they won't.

So, was it just the design of the bad guy? This trailer makes it seem like just a flash based version of the old show.

Since it was posted on /co/, it's probably just a joke.
Part of me just wants to ignore all of the problems and like it. PPG is such a huge part of my childhood it's not even funny. There are a few things they did right but there's so much they did wrong. Literally every inch of the charm that the show had is not there.
I assume Craig McCracken isn't involved on the development of this show? Because I feel like he wouldn't let it look like this.

Not only with McCracken but Genndy Tartakovsky too. You can see obvious influence in the old show from Genndy with backgrounds/character designs.
But now that Genndy's top priority will be the upcoming Samurai Jack reboot most likely I can't imagine he has a part with this show. Which is pretty disappointing for myself.

Sometimes, real shit gets posted.
Remember the Fant4stic shit?

I think I understand what people are saying about the art style now. Mojo Jojo & Him look like they came straight out of the original series, but everything else looks completely different. It's weird, but I'm still interested.
New VOs seem pretty bad, though.
I knew the Bubbles voice actress wouldn't sound anywhere near as good as Tara Strong.
I'll never understand why they got new voices.

Which is weird because its not like they don't have Tara Strong on hand already.
I honestly prefer the cg special aesthetic
At least it was an idea
Plus I just really like how it looked regardless of how divisive it was, especially to those who don't understand cgi as a medium

give up on this reboot

The reasoning I heard was that they were trying to help get newer voice actors into the scene, or something like that.
