Cause it was p. cool for a sparrow (generally timid birds) to go onto a candidates podium while hes talking.
I wouldn't be surprised if the percentage of Animists and other Nature Religions were to go up slightly from this. The almost universal symbol of hope and the common man fighting against their masters showing up at this guy's speech in particular. Animists and Pagans would probably interpret this as an actual official endorsement of Sanders by Mother Nature herself lol.
