There was the backlash against the community manager of that Megaman game which was blown way out of proportion
Well you're right that it was blown out of proportion but the fact that she was a woman wasn't what triggered the backlash. By the time she formally introduced herself as community manager she had a crapton of old tweets lying around; the kind of tweets that you wouldn't want someone evaluating your qualifications for a job to see. If those tweets hadn't been there people probably wouldn't have said anything.
I dug the Enter the Void-esque intro.
why shouldn't MGQ be on the ballot? it has more gameplay than gone home or beyond two souls. and it sure as hell beats both of them. it's legitimately a good game within its genre, just because it features sex (usually as a loss condition) doesn't mean it can't be taken seriously and /v/ has been all over it ever since part 1 was released, it's no surprise than part 3 would get more popular from the hype and thus get more votes. a large part were probably joke votes but you'll get those in every category regardless.
MGQ is also one of the few games you can confirm that a majority of 4channers will like. If something like The Last Of Us got in the top 3, there'd be a shitstorm, and even more of one if The Stanley Parable or Metal Gear Rising got that coveted #1 spot.
On that note, let's see how one of the creators of Gone Home feels about Long Live the Queen.
I guess there just wasn't enough tired 90's nostalgia fetishism for him to find it hip and now
Also not enough lesbians.
There's plenty of thinly-veiled unconsummated lesbianism in God Save The Queen, though. You can even marry your childhood girlfriend if you play your cards right.
I didn't say there weren't any :v:
Well, Gone Home only had the two. God Save The Queen has about... three? Fuck, I don't know if that bitchy aunt was into you or if it was just straight-up vitriol.

God Save The Queen has major, background, and tangential characters hiding under every rock and history/lineage/royal footnote, while Gone Home for the most part narrows it's scope to a single small family and their close associates. If you could physically turn each game into a pie, Gone Home would have the larger slice of Lesbian.
