Lmao what
"Provide evidence against my baseless claim all you want, I'm still going to keep my ears plugged and yell 'la la la'"
There is no such thing as objectification.
and WHAM that's one issue busted wide the FUCK open i don't know how we could have done it without you

It's research, while it can never be proven right, it's the closest you'll get. Those are the findings of a study, you're refusing to consider them because they might be wrong? If you guys are gonna duke it out with research, find something that proves his research wrong rather than just discrediting it because it might be wrong
Because she wrote a lot of cringe-worthy romance subplots into several popular games, and then she threw napalm onto a bad situation by appearing in a behind-the-scenes video and saying she was the one that wrote all that stuff, in terms of terrible writing skill she went far above that of other bad game story writers.
If she only got the hate because of being a woman, why didn't the leader writer for the Uncharted series get just as much hate?
Would she have gotten rape and death threats if she were a man? No. End of story.
Source all you want, doesn't make them right.
Forgive me if I'm noticing a trend that doesn't exist (confirmation bias, and all) but it seems to me that, just maybe, all of these people who post thread after thread and bad youtube after bad youtube about how terrible feminists are are kind of actually completely clueless?
Just a shot in the dark here.
I get that it doesn't feel nice being called out on all this, but is that really true? Your mental wellbeing depends on your ability to post videos by one guy online? I'm skeptical, yo
Your first mistake was taking Shreddinger seriously.
At all.
This is your daily reminder that FatUglyorSlutty.com exists, btw, since we're talking about gamers and women now.
To be honest, I think men are generally less threatened by rape than women or that what's people generally think anyway.
The people that send those messages are trying to hurt the person, be it a woman or a man, they're trying to hurt them.

I have realised this :v:
Terrible thread filled with ass. Seriously, it happens every time. Shreddinger posts a bait-thread. Everyone bites. 4 pages of cringe, stupidity, passive-aggressiveness and pointless arguments. Every single time, with more or less the same participants. Does it somehow not get boring and same-y after a while?
Would she have gotten rape and death threats if she were a man? No. End of story.
Terrible argument. You know that how exactly?

Women have more to fear. The majority of rapists out there are male and tons of people don't take rape seriously. It's not that man naturally become rapists, it's a whole social thing going back to way back when, like the beginning of civilisation. In another universe, perhaps more women would have become socialised in to what some men get socialised in to being today. If that makes sense. I'm a little clumsy with wording things :v:

Death threats sure, but rape threats probably not.
Then again, that's more because threatening someone with rape is just as terrible as threatening someone with death, and considering most gamers are straight men with vulnerable concepts of masculinity I doubt they'd be saying, "I want to fuck you in the ass" to a male developer.
gotta love threads like these.
"it's obvious bait, I won't bite!"
fucking everybody bites l m a o
I have completely lost track of this thread, to be honest though. It's hard to tell who's talking about what. It's like two or three threads in one. If somebody's gonna state something like "objectification isn't real" or something, people are going to discuss that. As for the thunderf00t bait, I don't know, I couldn't get past that guy's voice.

Well I've actually seen statistics that men get raped as often as women do

I'm just saying that those people are trying to hurt the person, the only reason they care about gender is for the possibility to cause max emotional damage, I don't think that they hate the person for their gender.

Because it doesn't happen.

Ok cool where in the bible does it say that women aren't seen as objects

well that's naive as all fuck.
Let me just trust the people frothing at the mouth and threatening women with rape to, deep down, really believe in equality. I'm sure when they aren't posting youtube comments about how they want to kill a woman because she critiqued their favorite video games they're just fine, normal people who don't have any fucked up ideas about gender.

I keep seeing conflicting data, different studies turn up different results. Most stuff on Google seemingly varies from male majority to somewhere near to 50/50. Maybe it varies based on where studies are performed, it's such a difficult thing to tell. I know of one specific person who was raped by a female, but that isn't even a sample or a study so I dunno - but it does happen, I'm aware of that. Females in the west seem to have a fear of male rapists however, so the question is, where does that come from? I know I hear about more male rapists than female rapists in my town, so whether it's a higher number of male rapists or just another social tendency to be more open about male offenders, that's hard to tell.
Shit, I miss the days where I didn't think about any of this shit and just ate my fuckin bacon goddamn :v:

It's not that they don't believe in equality, they just don't care.
When they're trying to hurt a person, they already hate for their ideas or w/e.
but the only reason they care about the gender is to make their attack more painful.
I think most of the troll and people who got their game shat on, hate the person for their ideologies and what they actually did.
Sure, there has to be people that actually hate people because of their gender, but I'm sure that they're in the minority.

Somebody who truly cares about equality wouldn't use inequality as a weapon against another person.
i actually like talking about this topic and I can say with 99.9% certainty that posting thunderfoot videos will always be a fucking terrible idea
he makes the same points in every single fucking video, there's no point in talking about them because we've already talked about them.
If you really want to read a discussion about thunderfoot's opinions just go back and read any one of your other dozen threads about the sod

Yeah, no, sorry dog, not buying it. A man who uses rape as a threat against women hates women. If he didn't hate women he wouldn't act like that. Call a spade a spade. Stop giving these fucking sociopaths the benefit of a doubt.
Another way to look at it could be to compare it to racism. A man says he isn't racist, but he wants to wind up a black person, so he uses a racial slur against them just to fuel that.
That man, contrary to claiming he isn't racist, is a racist. He used a racial slur in a racist context.
Yeah, no, sorry dog, not buying it. A man who uses rape as a threat against women hates women. If he didn't hate women he wouldn't act like that. Call a spade a spade. Stop giving these fucking sociopaths the benefit of a doubt.
Well I disagree, a person who uses rape as a threat against a woman, doesn't necessarily hate women but is trying to cause maximum damage to the person he's trying to hurt.
He hates the particular woman he's sending death/rape threats to.

He's still resorting to using inequality to hurt her. It doesn't matter if he respects equality outside of that, by sending just one rape threat he's contributing to inequality and making the problem worse.
why's everything gotta be about hating the other gender n shit.
what ever happened to simply calling somebody an asshole
great thing about it too is that it isn't gender exclusive

Why even bother with the semantics? If I go around calling immigrants lazy wetbacks and calling for them to be run out of town does it really matter if in my soul of souls I'm truly racist? No matter where the hate is coming from or how it's based it's just as vile.
He's still resorting to using inequality to hurt her. It doesn't matter if he respects equality outside of that, by sending just one rape threat he's contributing to inequality and making the problem worse.
How does sending a rape threat contribute to inequality?

Not everything is though, but rape and gender are controversially linked together often nowadays. I personally haven't 100% figured out for myself who I agree with on the topic myself, but from what I've experienced and what I've read, rape threats etc pose more of a threat to women at this moment in time based on how people have learned in the societies we live in.

Because it scares that woman, it makes her afraid of men. There's a chance she may spread that idea, or avoid men, etc.
