This thread has caused me a massive nostalgia attack. It's really disappointing to hear that they're not making machinima anymore. No WotS 2 now, I guess. There was always a small part of me that expected it to come out.
I still wish some of them were around
god, they were so good at machinimas And I wish they would of done more with Combine Nation, I'll bee waiting for ep.3 forever...
I'm sorry, but machinima is not a dying art; the writing is a dying art. Thanks to source film maker and even the tedious stop motion videos we get, we still get a rather good amount of quality machinima's. True most of the SFM videos are short bits of random humor, but people like R33MIX get it right. And when you don't want that, maxofs2d makes great tf2 videos. In addition to fan work, we're still getting great developer made machinma's that do still count, like meet the spy and meet the medic. You guy's are just paying attention too much to the vocal minority of kitty0706's videos, machinima.com's videos, and other horrible places and channels for it.

I'd have to say Lit Fuse Films and halflife2man were the people that really got me into machinima and got me to make my own.
if war of the servers had been 1/3 as long as it was, it would have been absolutely perfect
I'm sorry, but machinima is not a dying art; the writing is a dying art.
Truly a master of machinima and art.
Still funnier then most other videos and the production quality alone far exceeds other videos as well; i don't see what you're getting at here.
The problem with machinima right now is there is no community anymore. Machinima.com's forums were really the only place where fans could get together and produce stuff, but ever since M.com deleted their entire forum when they went for the money, no community took its place. [editline]7th December 2011[/editline] Even Facepunch got rid of its dedicated GMod Videos forum.
The thing with machinima is, when you get good at it, you'll end up getting a job from a game or TV / film industry some way or another. Then machinima kinda dies for you and you prefer doing real life stuff. I was fairly close to litfuse, all of LitFuse got jobs from the industry, including most of the machinima making community that used their forums, me included.
Hey guys. Remember this?
^ yes. gonna rewatch every episode thanks you
Hey guys. Remember this?
I was so sad when they stopped making them :( It was one of the best machinima series I've ever seen. The nostalgia is killing me :smith:
Indeed, too bad they broke up. Good thing is they all moved on for better things. Smooth Few films was definitely a good portion of Machinima history.
I came in on what I believe were the last days of the Videos subforum's glory. I miss the regular posters there like fumples and Scoutking and Max. Kurit also helped the posting last a little bit longer by giving us all to bitch at for being an idiot. Scout and Max I think are still around but I never saw them post there for the longest time until it got deleted. I miss that subforum, but by the end it was pretty much dead. On the topic of WOTS, I made this pretend-sequel-trailer-tribute thing a long time ago, but it's probably shit.
I miss the regular posters there like fumples and Scoutking and Max.
Why do you miss fumples I miss TH89 making fun of fumples
The forums at Lit Fuse Films was the first forum I even signed up for, and I'm pretty sure I was the last member to sign up seeing as they closed a few weeks later. I was such a horrible poster then. :smith: Personal favorite of mine will still be Jill's Song.
I still listen to Ignis Solus from time to time.
It's sad to see the comments on their website being littered with bots.
Oh God yes. I remember when they were still Mighty Crane Films.
I got bored of machinama when it started to become the same old shit over and over again. This thread does take me back to some good old memories, this forum in my opinion has come quite a way since back then.
Hopefully when the new Half Life comes out (if it ever does) the machinima community could rise again. Hopefully :(
The problem with the machinma community is we all grew up, or got occupied by real life things. [editline]9th December 2011[/editline] + the section for it got dulled down with shit mentality (which i contributed too greatly in bring the mentality it had, as did Max, fumples and others) and finally deleted.
oh god i remember WOTS that was nearly 5 years ago holy shit [editline]8th December 2011[/editline]
Hey guys. Remember this?
ive rewatched this series about a dozen times
Hey guys. Remember this?
I remember playing CSS Zombie Escape back in 2007 and hearing one of the guys in the server talking about some "HOLY SHIT LEET WORLD EPISODE 1 IS OUT!" I think I watched half of season one before I went on a dumb PC gaming hiatus back in 2007. [editline]9th December 2011[/editline] All this talk about Lit Fuse Films reminds me of... Da Bomb Squad
I was so sad when they stopped making them :( It was one of the best machinima series I've ever seen. The nostalgia is killing me :smith:
Their live action series was fucking amazing.
I miss making my own Machinima :( Oh, for those that are interested - I hosted the old War of the Servers website up - http://www.robertstoneman.com/wots/ some of the links work and some behind the scenes stuff also.

I should get round to just making the site just posters and video links instead of bot ridden movie profiles and dead links..
Who cares about Lit Fuse, it's all about DA BOMB SQUAD [editline]1st January 2012[/editline] but yeah if we're talking about good gmod machinimators, it's a shame that Lizzaroro is so unknown
