why doesn't he just not read his email at all [editline]3rd April 2016[/editline] like seriously i wake up to an inbox of 180 messages and i just mark them all as read
Is it 99% promo garbage from stuff you signed up to? this would drive me crazy since I have phone sounds on for getting emails on different accounts. My gmail is 10 years old and I get 5-10 emails a day, because every few months or when it gets into the 20-30 a day region I spend 10 minutes going through a few pages of emails and unsubscribing from all marketing junk.
I just feel like YandereDev is having a Burnout. Anger is just a byproduct of this state of mind, and even though it's not an excuse for poor behaviors, you have to admit that entitled gamers can fuel this anger.
Yeah definitely. I have been in a similar situation where you have a lot of people flooding you with crap, second guessing everything you do and acting like they know whats best for something you are making. It's not nice, but at the same time this guy is going about dealing with it the entirely wrong way which in turn just makes himself look like a bit of an asshole. His main point (I think, I couldn't sit through 20 minutes of whining) is that he needs volunteers contributing work, but its hard to find their emails in the sea of email that he gets. Tons of solutions for that, like having specific filters to set up and telling volunteers to include something special like a keyword in the title, or if something like that was abused just having a private forum section or something where people can apply to be volunteers then they can be given a separate email address or access to a different way to contact him. Of all of the things you could do to alleviate the problem, recording and editing a 20 minute long video whining about it is probably among the worst.
Oh crap, it works.
Frankly, I think that in order to work every day the way he does (and not produce absolute garbage) you have to be fucked in the head one way or another so I'm not really bothered by his behavior too much, thats just the price of genius
Who's gonna snap first? The protagonist or the developer?
Oh crap, it works.
This feature is great for whenever you're watching someone with a shitty mic going through a tutorial at a snail's pace.
This feature is great for whenever you're watching someone with a shitty mic going through a tutorial at a snail's pace.
I'm glad my uni puts their lectures online. Hour bus in, two hour lecture, hour bus out. Or watch at 1.5 AND skip the bullshit. It's a pretty easy choice between one hour or four to learn the same amount.
Has he seriously not set up an official forum yet? What's stopping him?
Oh crap, it works.
haha, i tried it for shits and giggles but it almost feels natural listening to him at 1.5 speed :v: edit what's his email? i want to make a 'really good' feature request :v:
Email has been around since the 60s. It was for a small network of scientists and the military, email from the very beginning wasn't supposed to be mass media. He's not a tiny figure any more, he needs more appropriate communications channels. Like others have said, that would be forums. Especially since it requires sign-up and that alone is enough to deter people who don't have anything important to say
Frankly, I think that in order to work every day the way he does (and not produce absolute garbage) you have to be fucked in the head one way or another so I'm not really bothered by his behavior too much, thats just the price of genius
Isn't that just called a job?
Isn't that just called a job?
Not really, watch some of the older videos where he explains his workflow and schedule this guy is like trans-asian or something, it's fucking incredible [sp]or he could be lying ofc[/sp]
Make a guide like this, Say somewhere in the middle of the guide "add "banana" in the email title" Ignore all emails with no banana.
he does he has a huge grudge against mike z because of the following: but when you look at the actual chatlog of what happened back then it turns out he was just throwing a fit and refusing to take any sort of criticism: http://pastebin.com/zhJ406D1 look up evaxephon for more fun stories; this game was doomed from the start
I remember him saying that he deeply regrets doing that.
I thought that was a pretty great post i don't know what you're talking about, his only mistake was posting while tripcoding. For what purpose do you think people visit imageboards despite their incredible cancer density. What sort of posts do you think he was replying to. The shit about his cringey interaction with mike on irc then bsing about it was all on him, but taking imageboard culture out of context just makes you look dense.
A great post? He's flinging shit at collective randoms on the internet and losing his shit as well as dignity over "problems" that a reasonable person would either ignore or deal with by themselves. Everything he puts out suggests that he takes the imageboard culture as seriously as everything else.
I'm not with the best attention span in the world, but holy fuck how can someone dedicate 8-12 hours to reading emails??

Post CP if you're going for really aggressive marketing.
From r/yandere_simulator:
sigh The list of problems that Yandere Dev has with Secretary's. 1. An professional Secretary would have no problem if you tell them what to do. its their job to sort emails and deal with people. they know what they are doing. 2. This could be an problem but let people know that this is an secretary and not you directly and to not 100% trust everything said by them. 3. Separate email only for current volunteers who are helping out with the game. not touched by secretary. only Yandere Dev. 4. THEY ARE AN SECRETARY. THIS IS THEIR JOB. by going though it slowly they are actively jeopardizing their chance of being in an job. they will most likely not be lazy about it. 5. Make them sign an NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement), They will not risk their job and being sued for posting an spoiler. I don't like that i have to write this again. Yandere sim to TOO BIG for one person to be dealing with all the emails and Developing the game. we all want to see this game come out. you are going to have to get an Secretary at some point. i know that most likely this is just going to be ignored. but HE HAS to get an secretary at some point. when he starts to get more help and when some more company's start to contact him (publishers ect) he is going to have to get an secretary.
the worst part of this whole thing is the way he pronounces "yandere"
It's yan-deh-reh right? Not yan-derry.
Has this guy even used a PC before? This is common sense in the year 2016, if your main email is public then it'll get flooded with junk.
This guy really sucks at managing a project, it's a shame because Yandere Sim would have progressed much further by now if he could get over himself and start hiring people.

Now he only posts on 8chan. Now, there is at least one person that tries its best to shit up every thread, he tries his best to disguise his trolling as criticism, but you can easily recognize him, and there are always a few orbiting retards that support the guy simply because they don't like the game and are biased against it. YanDev can act retarded often, but this time I can understand his rage because honestly reading the threads on 8chan has become a fucking chore for me, I can't imagine what it's like for him. It's simply not worth it when 50% of the thread is a guy shitting up the thread, 40% are guys feeding him and being called fanboys, and 10% is legit criticism or people simply disliking the game.
really seems to have changed a lot
Fuck, there's already one Derek Smart, why did the Internet have to breed another.
So i left a comment on Yandere Dev's video talking about how he should just open up a forum and how this mundane problem could've been handled better and when i come back to check on the video he deleted it :v:.
I can't stand to watch YandereDev's videos, his voice creeps me the fuck out.
Spoiler alert this game will never be finished because the dev is mentally unstable and has all the traits of a bad kickstarter developer who will probably cancel the game over trivial shit or take the money and run. He treats his voice actors like shit, he treats his fans like shit, blames it all on depression/anxiety/whatever when someone calls him out. It's very difficult to criticize the creator about these issues because people will either call you a social justice warrior due to the content of the game or claim that you're only calling him out because you hate anime.
Got some examples bud?
I can't provide any examples of what he said. I don't save any of these because arguments about this guy are rare on FP but he did address that there was some drama regarding voice actors. http://yanderedev.tumblr.com/post/120117999615/clearing-up-misunderstandings-part-3-volunteer It's a really interesting read because it tells you how he's handling the project: very poorly. Here's all the links of him addressing controversy if anyone is interested http://yanderedev.tumblr.com/post/119788924775/recent-allegations http://yanderedev.tumblr.com/post/120037118895/clearing-up-misunderstandings-part-1-mike-z http://yanderedev.tumblr.com/post/120038953160/clearing-up-misunderstandings-part-2-is http://yanderedev.tumblr.com/post/120117999615/clearing-up-misunderstandings-part-3-volunteer http://yanderedev.tumblr.com/post/138012889490/clearing-up-misunderstandings-part-4-a
Im ctrl+fing for "voice" and "actor" and im finding nothing.
that's because he's referring to the collective of all his volunteers, which include voice actors
