I can't provide any examples of what he said. I don't save any of these because arguments about this guy are rare on FP but he did address that there was some drama regarding voice actors.

It's a really interesting read because it tells you how he's handling the project: very poorly.
Here's all the links of him addressing controversy if anyone is interested

Ive read through these before, too, and i made a big post regarding the guy (SINGULAR) who started this. It was in one of the threads on SH before, if i can find it.
The conclusion i came to was the guy who accused him or pointed all this stuff out was likely bitter over a disagreement or criticism towards something he did for the game.
[editline]3rd April 2016[/editline]
that's because he's referring to the collective of all his volunteers, which include voice actors
So do you have actual examples of this supposed behavior or just a tumblr post of the guy defending himself?
So do you have actual examples of this supposed behavior or just a tumblr post of the guy defending himself?
Like I said before, I don't have any examples. If it pleases you then take my words for nothing.

You're making some pretty big claims, friend, prove them to be true or dont make them at all is all im saying.

I honestly wish I could go back and bookmark the shit the guy said but alas, I can't. I'm still going to make the claim that he's an unfit developer as evident by the video, the images in this thread, the drama he has to address, the way he's addressing the drama. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes an actual video regarding the drama he has to deal with if he's complaining about the emails he has to deal with.

And shouldnt, because its he-said she-said and as such is borderline worthless. And i remember readinh his posts too and he seemed overly bitter and its likely because he was unable to take criticism for some work he did.

I'll agree to an extent on that, he seems a little dopey with how he's handling things.
Pulled my Patreon funding, and put a strongly worded suggestion to his problems in the survey. 20 minute video in response to overwhelming amounts of emails is ridiculous
While pulling my pledge I noticed that Dwarf Fortress is getting less funding than this guy, which is just wrong. So I'm definitely shifting yandere money to a horrifying game that has an actual track record, developed by one guy + his brother the ideas man, and has a competently managed community where the developer spends a slightly more sane amount of time interacting. (even if he doesn't spend a sane amount of time developing. 14 hour day EVERY DAY of coding, for the last decade)
There is no way this is gonna make things better, probably just worse.
A forum would probably be for the best, people could then move on there instead, sure there may be spam, but atleast its there and not in his email.
He could have different sections for general stuff, suggestions, bug report and cosplay and fan art.
Atleast then everything is gonna be sorted in section, much much easier to sift through and you could easily get some volunteer mods to keep the mess clean.
Has he seriously not set up an official forum yet? What's stopping him?
he's a 1 man team that doesn't want to take any help from anyone. i'm sure he could find some trustworthy people to setup and run forums for him

Programming dwarves to dream is still the most magical thing I've ever read from their updates.

I dunno, the time he accidentally made it rain dandruff was a pretty good one, too.

The game is fun but my main reason for funding it is to be on its good side when it inevitably achieves accidental sentience
All I see is a hastily put together alpha with a cliche'd (not to mention creepy) storyline and the word simulator again needlessly stuck onto it likely for that sweet Youtube promotion bait.
This really isn't going anywhere by the looks of it and if the developer continues to dig himself into a rut it might as well be halted indefinitely.

Jesus Christ.
A month ago he literally said this is why he wants to change the name.
This has some serious backfire potential. Telling the internet to not do something...the dude just hit like the jackpot of spam, no?
Fuck a secretary, he needs a PR department.
I hope he eventually realizes that by saying "stop sending me stupid emails" he encourages people to send him stupid emails.
And my thoughts pretty much echo everyone else in this thread. Ignore the stupid emails (set up filters and shit), have discussion of the game happen on some sort of forum (or hell, use the existing subreddit), and maybe have a dedicated bug tracker. Make sure to also ignore the stupid posts in those outlets as well.
Maybe if he stopped reading emails so much, the game would have already been in the state he's wanting it to be for a Kickstarter to happen.
Also yeah, that whole post he made on 4chan about "turning depression into hatred" definitely wasn't the case. Essentially, he highly idolizes Mike Z (creator of Skullgirls), talked to him on IRC, sent him a shitty prototype of a fighting game made in Unity, Mike Z said it was bad (because he doesn't sugar coat things), and YandereDev was devastated and threw a fit. Apparently, he later discussed this with Mike Z again, realized he was in the wrong, and was apparently given some advice about game development.
At least, that's what he says here.
All in all, if he's so upset about having to read shitty emails, maybe he should focus less on emails and more on making the game.
he's a very strange character. everything about him is, for lack of a better term, creepy. obsessive over the smallest things, a strange way of conveying his thoughts through slow and meticulous talking, and most of all the subject matter he's tackling seems to be very uncanny when put side by side with who he is as a person. now to see how he acts both in text and through video, and how he thinks past the game-development side, it makes it really unsettling. I thought of it more as an act to make the videos unsettling because that's what he was going for, but now the whole damn thing is weird as hell. Makes me feel uncomfortable to play the game, if I ever were, because now I know there's a man behind it who feels a bit unstable, and that the intentions of this game might not be total irony, but rather an above-average interest into the whole murder thing.
eugh.
Yeah the whole way he talks and such was kinda funny at first because it seemed like an obvious character he was putting on but he's just getting actually crazy and annoying at this point
All of this personal information about this guy seemed to have just exploded out of nowhere overnight. I just read about this guy's problems for the first time yesterday and now it seems like everyone knows about it too, even though the thread about this game's last update had none of this.
I don't really care if the guy is a weirdo or not. If he makes a cool game I'll be happy, I don't need to know his life story.
I never read a book and said "Huh, this book 1984 is pretty compelling but I heard from someone George Orwell didn't have a good relationship with his Mother so I enjoy it less and instead I'll focus on that instead of the book, I guess."
Well, he's right about wanting to avoid any source of potential leaks as much as possible.
Things would get really awkward if a secretary slipped out that Yandere Simulator is actually Frog Fractions 2.

SHHHHH
His alleged emotional instability and reported disputes with coworkers could easily work their way into the game in a negative way. Orwell's experience as a Burmese constable influenced his works, whos to say that mental illness or infighting can't?
I don't get how the dev having personal issues affecting his work would be granted immunity from criticism because "well the game could be good"
It could happen, but it has yet to. The concern is legitimate, though.

Non-disclosure agreements exist for a reason.
He spent 20 minutes talking and god knows how much time editing this video while complaining he reads emails for too long? Feels like april 1st thing but it says it was posted on 2nd.
Non-disclosure agreements exist for a reason.
Not that it has stopped anyone before.
Not that it has stopped anyone before.
do you seriously think NDAs have never stopped anyone
Not that it has stopped anyone before.
Well, they haven't worked on some occasions but that just gives someone the excuse to sue to shit out of the offending party.
Not that it has stopped anyone before.
Yeah because leaking some random info about Yandere sim is so vital to the project.
so is this dude actually a psycho or what.
do you seriously think NDAs have never stopped anyone
Well, not really, that came out wrong. But there's a lot of people who would love to leak shit either out of spite or for momentary fame, all while ignoring the legal consequences of doing so. Lots of examples within the game dev industry.
[editline]4th April 2016[/editline]
It's gonna come back and bite them in the ass, sure, but if they're dumb enough to leak then that's not gonna stop 'em.
