Pick anything from there and you can probably enjoy it. Not in any particular order and not an all inclusive list, only from stuff I've seen personally.
I hate getting involved in anime discussions outside of specific boards, but this is one thing I can't let go.
Watch SDF Macross, not Robotech.
They are not the same thing. Robotech is not a dub of Macross. It's a rewrite/edit of SDF and mash up of 3 unrelated series in an attempt to create a cohesive narrative across 3 animated series because US television at the time required a show to have 65 episodes and SDF Macross had only 36.
If you watch SDF instead of Robotech, not only do you get something that's better written, more atmospheric, and an enduring classic of the mecha genre, but you can also jump right into the movies and sequel series like Do You Remember the Love, Macross 7 (if you're a crazy person), Plus, Frontier, and the currently airing Delta.
I don't watch anime but I heard Ajin is good

It takes a bit of getting used to them using 3d to emulate drawing(And they do get better at it later on in the show compared to the start), but yeah it's hype as fuck.
