Just wondering something here. since we've already encountered the flood, killed the prophets, befriended the elites, what could there possibly be to fight?

Interested in the story. The cliffhanger in Halo 3 was almost as bad as Halo 2. I always wondered what happened to Chief.

Its microsoft and they stopped making halo so they dont have to deal with microsoft anymore. [editline]6th June 2011[/editline]
How the hell can you tell the whole game's going to be shit from a teaser?
Well its no longer made by bungie but I do hear the new makers are exbungie so maybe it will feel more like halo 1.
Didn't bungie say halo 3 was the last of the halo series :downs:
No, they said the opposite, they said it wasn't the end of the story for chief or Cortana.
It did? I didn't notice that. And I honestly love all of the game's multiplayer portions too. They're games you can sit down and play with your friends and not get super hardcore about it like Modern Warfare idiots get. It still feels like Halo in every game.
Well compared to other games in the series. Sure it wasn't Chief or Arbiter's story, but maybe I was too used to that and expecting the same or alike. Either way I thought Bungie trying to make Halo a serious game was really corny. Reach is matchmaking pissed me off, and even though Bungie were good enough to do good with it, it seemed like they got nothing right. I kinda also felt like they're attempts of lengthening the game with easter eggs like all the BOBs and such kindof a waste if you're not gonna get rewarded something for them. However I agree about the multiplayer in general. All of them are really a blast to play. COD's multiplayer I find pretty fun, too, but I hate how it practically changed my beloved best friends into hardcore/"kewl-killcamz"/quikscoperz. They were pretty... hipster-ish when it came to Call of Duty. At least it's dying down now. I'm gonna go off on a tangent and I'm not gonna expect everyone to respond to it in anyway, but the last thing I'm going to say about Reach is that I think it limit it's player too much. With all the credit bans and such. Halo 3 was practically made for griefing, and only had betrayal booting and quitting. So many got used to doing this and it stayed with Reach. Now that Reach limits people by banning them for AFCing or mute banning them, and even the credit caps and other things, it was a really flawed system because even though it's "unfair", it's still a video game and limiting people would just make them go "ugh" and not play for a long time. Sorry for venting I just felt like finally getting that out.
I can't be the only one who is really annoyed by this franchise
Agreed, don't like it at all. But tbh I've played Halo: Reach quite some at my friends place and it is really good, best Halo game I've seen. And it's fun to play it on Xbox live as a team with 4 pads
What the fuck? I'm pretty sure Bungie said Reach was Halo's 'Swan Song'.
What the fuck? I'm pretty sure Bungie said Reach was Halo's 'Swan Song'.
No, it was the swan song for Bungie doing Halo. Now they're gonna focus on other games, whilst 343 Industries makes Halo games.
Awesome, a new engine to make upcoming Red vs. Blue episodes.
What the fuck? I'm pretty sure Bungie said Reach was Halo's 'Swan Song'.
Where is the bad reading when you need it. Also, FP will bitch about anything and everything, whining all the time :frown:
Stop being butthurt over a series that was originally an Xbox exclusive (and really still is) not being on the PC. Just because ONE port of the original CE that was done by Gearbox came out doesn't mean we'll get one with this.
I'm not lowering myself to playing it on a console. Controllers are fucking uncomfortable, you can never get the turn speed right. Push to slowly rotate in whatever direction rather than placing your mouse into a position which faces you there instantly is just crap, I cant enjoy a game that is uncomfortable to control. [editline]7th June 2011[/editline] Also, Halo 2. That was for the PC as well.

Which is why all console gameplay on youtube only is in 720p.
Half the game takes place in Master Cheif's bloodstream.
I respect Halo and its spin-offs to some degree, but developing another chapter of the saga without the original devs, Bungie, is just really fucking weak.
I respect Halo and its spin-offs to some degree, but developing another chapter of the saga without the original devs, Bungie, is just really fucking weak.
Totally disregarding that 343 is mostly made up of old Bungie members. :downs:
Half the game takes place in Master Cheif's bloodstream.
onboard the magic school bus
The milk in the cow is really starting to run out Bungie.
You do know that Reach was Bungie's last halo game, right? This is being made by a studio that M$ made just for halo after bungie left. Edit: Feed me the clocks, for I am late.
did they have to make the crotch so big?
guess what i'm still not buying [editline]8th June 2011[/editline] fuck i didn't notice this was a day old oopsies
Going to be honest, I really like the Halo games. A lot. In my opinion, they've never veered off the path of their play style and never really tried to reach a different audience just for the sake of money (Basically why everyone hates COD now). They've had a story and play style and they're sticking to it. I'll always be behind these games. It seems the only reason people hate them anyway is just because they're on the console.
My problem is how they handled multiplayer, DLC, and spinoffs. I suppose a lot can be blamed on their publisher but I see 343 as another Treyarch and doubt anything good will come out of them.
WOAH shit another halo! did not expect that!!!
Should be cool. One of the things I'm hoping for this game is that they'll make jumping feel like actual jumping. I'm cool with it if you still jump as high as usual, but I just want it to be faster, like in Crysis. With the high jumping in Crysis, you get a feel for both the power and the weight of the suit. In Halo, it's as if Master Chief temporarily transforms into a bunch of feathers or something.
but i thought we already finished the fight
Not sure about anyone else but the maps are horrible in all the Halo games
It's not that Halo is terrible or anything, it's just by this time the story is dull and I can't seem to think of anything new they can bring to the multiplayer table after Reach.
This is a good point. I think they might have also mentioned another 3 titles? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I see Halo going down the shitter with all those titles. The story will probably become forced and repetitive. I don't want to see that happen, but it's a business and money is money. If they do manage to bring something new to the table along with a compelling story, awesome. If not, it'll be a shame.
tbh I think reach should have been the last halo game (except maybe the remake of CE they're making, I would be okay with that) but this is probably going to be good. I'll be buying the shit out of, probably in the most expensive edition possible like I did for Reach and 3.
High Charity?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but High Charity is actually the 'infected' covenant ship that [sp]passes through a slipspace rupture close to the end of Halo 3[/sp] And not a UNSC colony. I believe the one in the video was Onyx?
If its any time after 3-4 years Cortana is corrupted, taking that the books are canon. -EDIT- Well, past a specific time period where AIs are past their useful date.
I wish the Books are canon. The Fall of Reach and The Flood seem somewhat canon. Not sure about First Strike or Ghosts of Onyx
