I don't see why people on here complain about it. It's a nice break from these "modern" FPS's with perks, loadouts, and trying to be "tactical".
Halo multiplayer reminds me of the good ol days of multiplayer where you found the better weapons across the map and it was just arcadey, chaotic fun.
I wish the Books are canon. The Fall of Reach and The Flood seem somewhat canon. Not sure about First Strike or Ghosts of Onyx
The Fall of Reach is canon
First Strike is Canon
The Flood is Halo 1
I don't know about Ghosts of Onyx
Yeah i never understood why halo was hated so much. Halo CE (and Custom edition) and halo 2 were fucking great games, then halo 3 comes out (still great), and all the little xbox kids start playing it. People start hating a game for the people who play it, and it eventually that hate turns into the game sucks.
Halo custom editon was the shit, it was fucking amazing. I loved flying pelicans or jets in hugeass or the cold ice map shooting shit with some mechs.
Do you guys remember the legendary ending to halo 3, the one where cheif moves towards that planet, and it glows blue?
Maybe that's this one.
But then again, didn't the ending of halo: reach show the helment in the foreground, and then the front half of the cheif's ship crashed in the back?
So maybe he landed on reach.
I don't know it's all to confusing...
If it's really going to use kinect it will lose 80 to 90% of it's fanbase.

Kinect will probably just be optional like Playstation Move is with SOCOM.

Cold snap was fucking huge man.

Yes it is the same one from the legendary ending. No it is not Reach because Reach was glassed shortly before the events of Halo CE. The planet is believed to be Onyx, one of the many guardian planets created by the Forerunners, which were made to shield those from the Rings when they were activated. It is possible that there are still Forerunners alive. Although no one really knows.
Also, in the ending of Reach, that's not Master Chiefs helmet. And no ship crashes in the background. Although that is Cortana talking, which linked together the series. I feel like Reading the books then playing all the games again, from Reach all the way to Halo 3.
I thought Onyx was destroyed in the books (I never read the books, this is what someone said earlier IF I remember correctly)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but High Charity is actually the 'infected' covenant ship that [sp]passes through a slipspace rupture close to the end of Halo 3[/sp] And not a UNSC colony. I believe the one in the video was Onyx?
High Charity was a giant Covenant space station introduced in Halo 2 which the flood took over and flew to the Ark
The one thing that annoys me about Halo games is the inconsistency with the weapons.
What really annoyed me the most though was them bringing back the original assault rifle from Halo 1 to Halo Reach, but making it only a 32 round mag when the original was 60. After beating the game, you notice how quickly Halo Reach's ending and Halo 1's intro are to one another. So in the span of 10 minutes they created the 60 round assault rifle, dumped the semi-auto battle rifle, then by Halo 2 they said fuck the 60 round assault rifle and made the battle rifle a 20 something burst fire rifle?
I guess they got an increase in the budget too after Reach got obliterated and made 100% indestructible vehicles. By Halo 2, I guess the economy went downhill so the budget had to be cut on that. :downs:

Hey, hey listen. Hey are you listening? Hey how about, now just hear me out. How about this whole thing is a bunch of games and normally they don't have to make sense. Like in Half-Life 2, the smg (which is an MP7) has an invisible grenade launcher attached to it.
I want to know the guy who thought it would be a good idea to change the halo 1 pistol to the halo 2 pistol and get him fired.
Don't think its a planet. Probably something to do with the forerunners.
Or a gravity lift on one of the larger covenant ships?
I'm optimistic. The Halo games were all good, even ODST had some nice competent gameplay. Reach was amazing as well, so I don't see why people bash Halo so much seeing as how it's probably one of the more original FPS games out there in terms of storyline and gameplay. CE especially, which is great because most of the CE staff is now working at 343.

If you were to read the story you would know that the line of weapons is not at all linear. The MA37 (reach rifle) was primarily used by the military, the MA5B (the CE rifle) was primarily used by the Navy (the pillar of autumn). You would also know that the battle rifle was also being actively used even before CE and even during Reach, John just got a hold of it in Halo 2 because of circumstantial reasons. In Halo 3 is where the rifle was changed.

If I'm not mistaken. Arachnidus, a little help?

What annoys me is how all the weapons in the new Halo:CE are the Reach-style weapons. All of them.

At least HL2's weapons are consistent.

If they're milking halo, Valve has already milked half life.

Oh yeah, that's kinda fucked up. I wonder if they're retconning it or just plain stupid.
[editline]20th June 2011[/editline]
Personally I'm just glad to see Master Chief back in action.
[editline]20th June 2011[/editline]
My one isssue is that they fucked up the armor in both CEA and in Halo 4, it seems. Mark VI was really a classic design. They didn't have to go and do that.
[editline]20th June 2011[/editline]
(unless it's NEW armor, in that case it doesn't look too bad at all)
