holy fucking shit, this game actually runs perfectly now. It could never run well until this version, running at 1080 at 60fps.
Oh shit I was about to start a video about this game too. Fuck yeah
anyone know how twilight princess runs now? there was a big issue last time i tried playing it on v4 where the major areas like hyrule field / its equivalent would be slow as shit for whatever reason, i recall it being linked to terrible cpu optimization or something i tried all of the fixes and none worked. audio was glitchy as heck too
Runs insanely fast and smooth for me now, no audio glitches, only a few slightly off shader effects. feels like I'm playing it on a console, only in 1080p with 4x AA this update is great, especially because my actual wii has fuckin died.
Port forward skipping so considerate :godzing:
finally i can run MW3 at a stable framerate
[vid]https://my.mixtape.moe/eptsmc.mp4[/vid] It's good to know there are some Metal Arms fans here, seriously one of the most underrated games ever, I'm so happy they finally got it running perfectly.
Doesn't seem to be the case for me, unfortunately. I've tried every backend and the game still sort of runs weird, especially in the main menu. Quite a shame really, as this was one of my favorite games on the Gamecube. I have an FX-8350 and a GTX 970, so I don't know what else could be doing it.
Weird, I've pretty much got a less powerful system, GTX 960 and it's running like a gem.
I mean the game runs at 60 FPS for me in the actual game, but there are noticeable stutters here and there. Could be my CPU, as I don't think Dolphin does its best on current AMD CPUs. I'll try toying around with the CPU clock in Dolphin later to see if that can smooth some things out. Everything else runs absolutely perfectly though.
Damn, I was hoping this would fix the error I keep getting in the thousand year door. Maybe some day I'll be able to finish the train level. Everything else is a huge improvement though, so kudos to the devs.
It's good to know there are some Metal Arms fans here
hi there's quite a few of us I also started work on some modding tools for metal arms (every console) a couple forevers ago, but lost interest in the project. There's also some guys (non fp) who are working on a metal arms remake in unreal or something.
question: why is there an amazing gcn emulator and a good ps2 emulator but literally 0 xbox (original) emulator? i want to play JSRF on my PC but sega hates me on what i'd imagine is a personal level
I wish every console had emulators as well developed as Dolphin
well, it looks like the cemu emulator might follow suit. its still very early wip, but just look at this footage i just recored; [vid]http://webm.land/media/8JYX.webm[/vid] and that's all running on my laptop's gtx 950m gpu, constant 60fps (with some stutters and graphical glitches here and there). very impressive for such an early emulator.

Very slow progress has been made but still.
The Xbox's GPU and the way it handles audio is weird and undocumented. Very slow progress has been made but still.
It's also because the Gamecube emulator (and PPSSPP as well) came from direct documentation of their systems, making it incredibly more efficient to figure out how to work them. It's the games with hacky methods like Rogue Squadron that's eluded Dolphin for years. Meanwhile the original Xbox was extremely locked down, and the only developer's systems left are either broken or held in a state where no one would want to try to open them up and find out how they work.
does this possibly mean timesplitters is now playable?\ nvmd. timesplitters 2 works perfect now and so does future perfect. I know what im playing https://i.gyazo.com/3b90d3a3b1b617bd582197ec370f84c1.jpg
I've spent a very long time fighting with PCSX2 to get Future Perfect to emulate (as I actually own the game, so I don't have to faff with downloading it). If Dolphin can just fucking play the thing flawlessly I might have to give it a shot. PCSX2 has a number of issues with FP that I just can't find good hacks for. Texture overlays sometimes bug out the depth buffer super hard, audio desync is common (so you need to disable timewarp or it'll fuck the audio up), and the framerate will just shit itself sometimes. Render target stuff like the crane control in the second level also never actually works for me. PCSX2 is astonishingly good for a few games, but despite all the work put into it, it's still quite a janky piece of shit.
Just watched some gameplay of a guy playing Metroid Prime 1 (Not the Trilogy version) in VR. Holeee fuck. For Dolphin 5, the apparent restructure of how it agrees with your CPU is incredibly impressive
I'd rather the VR emulation scene's figurehead be the Dolphin group itself rather than any particular individual that could be used to give VR (or emulation) gaming a bad name by some technophobic news agency like the BBC.
Again, why does that matter? Some people are capable of keeping their personal lives and beliefs separate from their work.
I'm not saying the work itself is tainted or that I'd never use it.
I'm not racist but...

Controls are a little awkward to convert to a PS4 controller, but I noticed that little effects here and there are actually either not in the PS2 version or even outright superior - but usually it's not noticeable.

But I do remember seeing a few effects that looked outright better. When it was working :v: One issue with emulation, it can vary quite wildly due to minor differences in setup. I was running it scaled up quite a bit and all kinds of shit, probably didn't help. NFS: MW emulates quite well on this new rig I find, after a bit of tweaking to fix a texture offset issue I had with overlay effects when upscaling.
It also won't detect my xbox one controller anymore.
Just downloaded 5.0 and it won't detect my 360 controller. Did they break XInput detection by mistake?
Fuck I wish PCSX2 was as good as Dolphin I remember having so many graphical glitches and all that compared to Dolphin
I just want the Ratched & Clank games to be playable. That's all I want. I'm to the point where I might just buy a PS2 and play them again.
Just downloaded 5.0 and it won't detect my 360 controller.
I just want the Ratched & Clank games to be playable. That's all I want. How well will this emulate Twilight Princess now? I've been looking to play it for a long time. Also with Dolphin, do I need a controller or is mouse/keyboard supported?
How well will this emulate Twilight Princess now? I've been looking to play it for a long time. And it seems to run perfectly for me.
Both are supported, but a Controller/Wii remote is obviously significantly recommended. And it seems to run perfectly for me.
well yes significantly but am i going to have a bad time if i use a keyboard cause my controller is MIA right now holmes
well yes significantly but am i going to have a bad time if i use a keyboard cause my controller is MIA right now holmes
If your playing the gamecube version, not really sure as I haven't played without my controller other than at the start when I was giving it a go to see how well it ran, but from what I remember of trying it out, it's rather fiddly. Entirely possible but fiddly.
My 360 controller works fine, though I had to manually select it in the Controller options and then remap the buttons, perhaps that's what you and Ganerumo need to do? And it worked almost flawlessly with just a few hiccups at certain moments. Before Timesplitters 2 slowed down and stop/start every few seconds. But now, all okay. Timesplitters 2 on PCSX2 is still buggy as shit by the way. Huge contrast. So I assume that Future Perfect will do much better.
