I mean the game runs at 60 FPS for me in the actual game, but there are noticeable stutters here and there. Could be my CPU, as I don't think Dolphin does its best on current AMD CPUs.
I'll try toying around with the CPU clock in Dolphin later to see if that can smooth some things out. Everything else runs absolutely perfectly though.
Don't let the first level of the game fool you, it does stutter, especially when explosions go off, but the issues iron themselves out after a short while
Meanwhile the original Xbox was extremely locked down, and the only developer's systems left are either broken or held in a state where no one would want to try to open them up and find out how they work.
a shame, would like to play jet set radio future but there's no signs of it ever coming to modern systems and there's no real xbox emulator

Metroid Prime seemed to work best with this. Others...not so much. Funny how you can actively see objects unload around you while changing camera angles due to being able to see things that would normally not be visible on screen.
I tested Timesplitters 2 before. And it worked almost flawlessly with just a few hiccups at certain moments. Before Timesplitters 2 slowed down and stop/start every few seconds. But now, all okay. Timesplitters 2 on PCSX2 is still buggy as shit by the way. Huge contrast. So I assume that Future Perfect will do much better.
fuck yes, I tried to play it a few months back and Siberia would lag like a motherfucker, good to know this is playable now!
Has anyone tried running this over a steam link or w/ steam controller? Or any controller streamed through the steam link, multiple or not
I've used it with a steam controller. Maybe it was just my configuration but I could never get the left trackpad to configure correctly as a dpad as dolphin would recognize every direction as the same button press, beyond that it worked fine.

I'll give it a try tomorrow after work.

As a massive fan of Metroid Prime, I'll definitely try this out whenever I get a Vive. Playing or making a Metroid Prime style game in VR is pretty much my dream at this point.
Don't let the first level of the game fool you, it does stutter, especially when explosions go off, but the issues iron themselves out after a short while
Well, that's nice to know. I'll definitely trudge through its initial roughness then. Thank you.
PCSX2 devs, take note.
The PS2's architecture is a unholy and undocumented abomination in comparison to the Wii.
Same with the PS3, Sony liked it weird.
I don't understand why Dolphin emulated games have never run well for me. I have a pretty beefy machine, well over the specs of some of my friends who don't have any trouble. I was hoping 5.0 would let me play Rogue Squadron 2, but it's still so slow I can't stand it. Other games aren't much more playable.
I tested Timesplitters 2 before. And it worked almost flawlessly with just a few hiccups at certain moments. Adding to this, I tested out Future Perfect as well and it actually works even better. In fact, after playing through the first mission I didn't notice any issues like slowdown, visual or audio glitches of the like. Playing it with 1080p, it played like a dream. It took a while, but they nailed it. Possibly, there are still quite a few games that might not work or run well with Dolphin 5.0. Using a GTX 670 & Intel Core i5-3570K, everything has been smooth so far.
PCSX2 devs, take note.
This isn't a fair comparison. The PS2 is way harder to emulate than the GameCube/Wii. And the benefits of doing so are piecemeal. It's a PS2 compared to a GCN/Wii combo. The effort would be wasted. The only exclusive game I give a shit about is Persona 3, I'm pretty sure most people feel similarly.
One, I was teasing. I know how hard it is.
Two, the Playstation 2 is the best selling console of all-time. Nailing down Playstation 2 emulation would open up access to an absolutely gigantic library of classics, and as cool as Dolphin and emulating Gamecube games is and how much I use it, I'm far more interested in seeing PS2 perfected.
Arguing that most people only care about Persona 3 is also silly. There are tons of exclusive games or games that only ever released on Xbox or PS2. Ratchet and Clank trilogy, Destroy All Humans series, Sly Cooper series, Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3, Jak and Daxter series, I could go on.

I edited my post in response to your edit, I will list a few more: Burnout 3, Black,
God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, Katamari Damacy, and Okami (I believe it's on Wii but it's not a great version from what I understand).
[editline]27th June 2016[/editline]
Some of these already emulate pretty fine. Katamari Damacy, Sly Cooper, and Okami are pretty solid, with minor bugs. Destroy All Humans 1 and 2 are playable but very visually broken. Ratchet and Clank series is unplayable.
well, it looks like the cemu emulator might follow suit. its still very early wip, but just look at this footage i just recored;

and that's all running on my laptop's gtx 950m gpu, constant 60fps (with some stutters and graphical glitches here and there). very impressive for such an early emulator.
Shadow of the Colossus had a PS3 graphical upgrade/remake. For what it's worth to mention.

What's the advantage over the PC version? I was looking into this some time ago, and found PC versions of NFSU games to be superior

I am playing Mario Sunshine and Wind Waker using SC and In-Home Streaming. Works extremely well
So happy. I wish other emulators got this much care, but in the end I'm kinda glad it's Nintendo's side that gets this much love. Replaying a lotta those old games is a nostalgia trip and a half.
Does the Wii U Gamecube Adapter need any extra configuration before I can use it or can I just select it from the menu and use my controller?

You need to do a slight driver configuration, but its fairly easy to just follow the wiki's steps:

Quite a few of these games have. However I'm primarily listing games that otherwise aren't available on the PC through any other means. PS3 emulation is out of the question :v:
This is awesome. I still remember messing with P64 back in the day, trying to get Zelda to look it's best on my old laptop.
Definitely spending my day with this new update.

It was a horrifically lazy port, while it runs stable and looks great, they didn't even try to make sure the gameplay works with 60 fps. You burn through grip twice as fast, and that's if your grip connects, the increase in performance throws off grab timings entirely.
The game is twice as hard for really silly reasons due to this, even one of the easiest colossi, the third, is made extremely difficult by the fact that you don't really have enough time to properly run up his sword after his cuff breaks to grab on
Whoa - I did not know that Dolphin can emulate *all* Nintendo consoles, all the way down to NES games. Holy shit.
Rate me Clock all you want, I just never looked into Dolphin before.

It can't straight up open the ROMs, but it can emulate the Virtual Console emulators (and presumably homebrew emulators). So the games are being emulated twice, basically.

Isn't Dolphin+VCN64 more accurate and faster than most actual N64 emulators? I've heard as much, but I've never tried it myself.
I did emulate a PS2 emulating an MSX once... Metal Gear II that way was more playable than Metal Gear Solid III on that same PS2 emulator.
The only thing sad about PCSX2 is that there is no way to properly emulate the DS2's pressure sensitive buttons unless you have an actual DS2 or DS3. It's a feature not used that often, but it's used in games like MGS2 and MGS3 and is basically crucial to them being playable.
And although PCSX2 does have its issues, it's still much further along than it really ought to be given the PS2's very unconventional hardware. I'd almost say it does a better job at emulating PS2 games than PJ64 does at emulating N64 games.

For some games it's actually better to emulate the Wii for N64 titles.

If you're tricky you can move the pressure sensitive face buttons to analog triggers. Most games dont use more than two anyway.
