Speaking of Super Mario Sunshine just started playing it on dolphin and oh my lord why is mario so badly done here he's completely out of control without having to use fludd to hold your hand and not land in a pit or whatever god what a mistake I've made for playing through smg 1 and 2 before this, but hey playing wii games on a keyboard and mouse felt like a fever dream some years ago.
I've barely finished the first world with all the shines, red and blue coins and just turned on infinite lives (this is a first for a Mario game :ohno:) at some point because damn a punishing game on this one fludd-less challenge.
And out of frustration I've decided to also start playing 3D world on cemu (1.5.3 version HYPEEEEE) and oh my god, this game is gooooooooooooooooooooooooood it might be isometric but it has the feeling of galaxy by the balls.
I actually think Sunshine is a solid controlling game. It feels like a proper sequel to 64. The trick is to not think of water as a tool but as a natural extension of Mario.
The only thing sad about PCSX2 is that there is no way to properly emulate the DS2's pressure sensitive buttons unless you have an actual DS2 or DS3. It's a feature not used that often, but it's used in games like MGS2 and MGS3 and is basically crucial to them being playable.
And although PCSX2 does have its issues, it's still much further along than it really ought to be given the PS2's very unconventional hardware. I'd almost say it does a better job at emulating PS2 games than PJ64 does at emulating N64 games.
Steam Controller can sorta do pressure sensitive. If you do a light pull it'll count as a button press and a hard pull will count as a separate one.

That's the triggers. The PS2 had pressure-sensitive buttons for its controllers as well, which meant that a partial press of the right button would pull out your weapon in MGS3, and a full press would fire it, akin to having to pull a trigger all the way on a gun for it to fire. The PS3 version of MGS3 was able to recreate this since the PS3 controller has pressure sensitive buttons as well, but the 360 version had to work around it for MGS2 and MGS3 since it lacked that functionality.
man, every single game seems to run maxed out at full framerate in 1440p. it doesn't even feel like an emulator anymore, they feel like they're running native.
I fucking love Dolphin. The devs are awesome, and it just keeps getting better every release. I've almost completely stopped using my Gamecube because of it. F-Zero GX in 1080p looks fucking amazing.
Bummer, I've lost my bluetooth adapter that I used before Dolphin was even a thing and found out my Wii sensor bar can't just be hacked into a PC compatible one with a spare USB cable.
Time to invest in a new adapter and sensor bar I suppose.

I thought all sensor bars are the same? The one I have (came with Remote Plus) can be resoldered to work from USB.

I've got one of the first revisions that uses 5 LEDs per "point", meaning the voltage from USB is just short of powering them properly from what I can find.
It can't straight up open the ROMs, but it can emulate the Virtual Console emulators (and presumably homebrew emulators). So the games are being emulated twice, basically.
Dolphin is emulating a console emulating another console easier than most emulators just emulate the one console.
It makes me hope that people can reverse engineer the 360's emulation of the original Xbox.
has anyone tried to use a vive or touch controller as a wii mote?
has anyone tried to use a vive or touch controller as a wii mote?
I'm about to. I know it has the option for it, but I don't know how well it works.
finally tried it out today, 0 performance gain over last version.
oh well

Just get a wireless sensor bar. They're pretty damn cheap and actually work.
Basically, the only reason why the sensor bar is wired is to provide power to it.

Yeah, I was hoping to just splice in a USB cable, but I'd need something to step up the voltage on my model so fuck it.
I'll grab a new bar and dongle in my next Amazon order.
Could do what I did for a year and use 2 candles on your desk. :v:
It actually worked surprisingly well, with just a bit of jitter from the flames moving around.

If I remember right, the best one is called Dolphin Bar.
If I remember right, the best one is called Dolphin Bar.
I was looking at that actually, combining the bar and bluetooth in one device, that actually gets firmware updates, is quite a nice touch.
I don't exactly use bluetooth for anything else on my PC anyway. I might grab one to be honest. All the reviews seem pretty strong.

You can cut a few of them out, it will still work without any problems. That's what I did on my "5 LEDs per side" sensor

F-ZERO IN VR. I AM SO SOLD

Graphically due to cranking up all of the AA shit, resolution, etc. I feel like projectm under dolphin looks better than super smash brothers 4 played on a wiiu.
There's more polygons, and certain graphical features, but overall sharpness is much better for projectm.

you can indeed have a fantastic VR 3D monitor using this feature, but simply adding stereo 3D isn't enough to be 'in' the game world
there's a nice fork of Dolphin that adds actual 3D support, just don't read any of the comments its creator writes online (he got himself banned from the official Dolphin line on github for neonazi type political ranting ON GITHUB lmao)
who cares, i want Fzero on the rift/vive/cardboardbox. You don't shittalk the space program because Van Braun had a few funny ideas about minorities

supposedly the main Dolphin team plans on adding their own official VR support targeting Razer's truly open source hardware/software first; Razer's SDK will function on other VR headsets presumably such as how the Rift can run Valve's OpenVR SDK
back when I tried the VR fork of Dolphin it hardly worked; maybe it's better now but I still see tons of bug reports, so I'm looking forward to that official support from these coding wizards that released this update

What's the difference? Frame packing full resolution frames, instead of half the vertical?
finally tried it out today, 0 performance gain over last version.

well that's just flat out not true though, something must be wrong

stereo 3D in the side-by-side kind of format offered only works properly from the angle right in the center looking at the screen
no head-tracking is offered by which to change the game's camera angle when you look around
it's basically a big VR 3DS

Are we talking about actual neonazi rants or did he post an eggplant emote, because github started banning people for being vaguely politically disagreeable last year and i wouldnt put it past them to ban someone just because someone's friend asked them to ban someone they didnt like.
I've been struggling to get good controls for Okami to work with my 360 gamepad, does anyone have any control suggestions for it to get it running? Trying to mock the original PS2 control loadout because of button placement.
I'm having trouble setting up fleetfoot (dodging, wanted to be able to use it like the original PS2 controls) and it seems like I can't tackle or run properly, for some reason.
