Turbo controllers are faster than that, i'm not sure but I'd say 10 times as fast, even. Still outrageous though
I'm late to the Jontron fan club. What happened to make him leave Game Grumps? Also, the Game Grumps thread has 200+ dumbs, do people on Facepunch really hate them that much?
gim gramps was good but then it got REALLY monotonous, at least for me. It ran it's course weeks before Jon left and they introduced new people (who I particularly don't like at all) which just cemented everything and made me stop watching completely
I don't really get Game Grumps. Didn't find JonTron until after he had already left but I love him. Then I decided to check out Game Grumps and it's just not as good to me.
Wanted to work on personal projects.
It probably got a lot of dumbs due to Danny entering the picture and people hating change.
I feel like Gramps got a lot of dumbs mainly because it turned more "commercial" in a way. Jon didn't just bring comedy, he actually complained reasonably about certain games instead of just saying "oh my god what do I do". Once he left, Arin tried to pick up the series by making "characters" such as his unlikable gangster-thing
Game Grumps had some memorable bits, but without Jontron it all just feels stale. Danny and Arin just sort of blend together in my mind.

This is pretty much it. Arin is trying to fill Jon's shoes by being the crazy foil to Dan's witty calm but since they're both wacky, it doesn't work. If it was Dan being Dan and Arin being Jon-era Arin, it'd be fine and good but Arin seems like he's trying to make it mostly about himself. Also he needs a break for a while.

It became obvious that it's a business for Arin instead of just playing video games and having fun, having 3 series running concurrently, way more shirts / merch advertisments it just feels commercial
also Danny isn't the replacement to fill jons shoes
He's got Paul Ritchey from Continue as co-writer and cinematographer.
Continue is legit one of the funniest webshows out there, and definitely the funniest "lets play" so to speak.

Danny COULD be, but as mentioned before, they're intentionally trying to make the show funny instead of being themselves.
Danny's the redeeming factor IMO, because at least he tries to be himself at times, such as the whole inspirational OCD thing.
Arin always seemed at least a little disingenuous to me on Grumps, especially when you compare him to how genuine Jon seemed to be. Jon was just bouncing off the walls having fun and saying goofy shit, while Arin was trying his hardest to use that goofy shit to make a joke, and then he would turn around and say some pretentious shit about game design.
Are we seriously going to do the "What happened to Jon? No really what happened to him" debate, every time a new Jontron comes up?

From the looks of it, we've changed tracks anyways from "Why you'd leave us, Jon?!" to "Arin is a money-grubbing shithead" pretty fast. Not that it's any better, but it is definitely distinct.

I think Arin's just being himself because of living in Cali + We're used to him saying dumb crap alot.
And Jon left because he wanted to work on his show/ be with his woman.
There is no secret or mystery to solve here, and they don't mention Jon because they're fucked both ways.
Either you mention Jon and reddit goes nuts, or you don't and reddit goes nuts :v:

You two can't fool me.
I know you planned this. Especially with them being mirrored as if they're conversing with one another.
I'm onto you.

Hence the words
Hey I'm grump
I'm not so grump
But the new GG is one where they are both not so grump. It's still funny, but not as it used to be :v:

it was always the same thing too about how "the game should tell you how to play through its design", which I can understand to some extent but it's not like having to read little snippets of text is the same thing as having a fucking manual dropped on your lap, like in the dark ages before Megaman CHANGED EVERYTHING AND REVOLUTIONIZED GAMING AS WE KNOW IT. it always got so grating how he tried to apply the design philosophy of a game with simplistic mechanics to most other things he and Jon (sometimes agonizingly) tried to play through.
is stopping to read a little really so awful that you'd rather try to crawl through the game, completely clueless as to what's going on or how to properly play it?
thread summery so far: jon is a sexy funnyman and arin is a butt

but when they played 'intuitive' games in the vein of megaman (letting you figure out the controls yourself in a linear space etc) he literally had no idea what was happening and actually blamed the game so he just has no idea in general lol

Examplé?
it was like half a year ago but i think it was one of their one-offs. might try and find it
Honestly I only go to their channel for Steam Train
Game Grumps just rubs me the wrong way because it shows that even someone as talented and successful as Arin can just go and make tons more money and become way more popular just by sitting down and making a glorified fucking Let's Play.
[sp]And then letting that become all he does[/sp]
But I stopped watching right after Jon left.

I remember when Arin hated YouTube, and forced all the Awesome videos off of there.

Well you can definitely see the differences between Arin when he still made Awesome episodes and other animations and Arin now where he is more or less just doing Lets Plays and playing board games that require not that much effort compared to animating.
Jon is still a bro though, hope he stays that way.

It's hard to imagine ever thinking "Jon made the right decision" back when he left GG, and the subsequent video drought on the JonTron channel.
But, goddamn Jon made the right decision.
Still waiting for the next sequelitis :(
Jon has been pouring out content on his channel since he left GG, given there was a period of nothing right after he left game grumps but afterward he released more content on his channel than Arin did total since the start of Game Grumps.
It's undeniable GG is a massive time consumer but then you see shit like Starbomb and you realize it's more about Arin having some really bad sense of priority than a real lack of time that shoots down all his stuff.
Maybe it's due to Arin being an uneducated manchild in many ways but he doesn't seem to be able to grasp that this sort of thing is going to fade away and can die out in the span of half a year, and when game grumps does eventually end, if Arin hasn't put out any decent work since the show started he's gonna be dumbfounded when he has to put effort into stuff again.
I've been following Arin since he first started on Newgrounds and it's sucked to see where he is now. Like, i'm genuine sad to say that i pretty much just watch it for Danny and sometimes Ross anymore. Not to say Grumps aren't good anymore, they're still alright but they're not what they used to be and it saddens me. Like, when is the next thing they're going to be at happening? One of us should find a way there and just ask him what's up. Just call Arin out in front of everybody, just ask "When is this going to stop?"

In GG there was a special thing going on when it was Arin + Jon, they humor just connected perfectly.
Also what i noticed on his latest Starbomb videos..

Doesn't he even animate the videos anymore?

he animated the characters for the luigi's ballad video, but a lot of that video was also outsourced. ego is still an awesome animator, but it sucks that he isnt putting a priority on it anymore.
I mean, everybody goes through phases where they just don't do a whole lot, etc, my ex was the same way with her art but like, it's been a long fuckin' time.
