[sp]jokes aside, the only difference between PC and Console is PC you still can enjoy games for games... only faster, crisper, and you can replay those games with mods after beating them. So I don't know what the fuck your point is. I still do own a console because it has its benefits, though.[/sp]
This is sad.

I think you people should chill out a bit, its just a joke.
D-did people just find a way to replace the bird models? Damn I want to get this game, but my PC is probably too weak to run it smoothly.
It runs very well even on lower end hardware from what I hear.
D-did people just find a way to replace the bird models? Damn I want to get this game, but my PC is probably too weak to run it smoothly.
It's super optimised. I'm using a laptop that struggles when RTS games have too many units but MGSV runs perfectly based on the settings they detected for it Still looks great
I bought that game thinking "heck why not buy a MGS game besides rising". I understood nothing about the plot. What MGS games should I play to understand it?
I bought that game thinking "heck why not buy a MGS game besides rising". I understood nothing about the plot. What MGS games should I play to understand it?
GZ comes with a pretty thorough and comprehensive summary of the plot up to that point in time (which is very early in the timeline). If you really want to play through everything, just do it in release order.
I played MGS3 and PW because those are chronologically the games that came before GZ and TPP, started MGS1 and got halfway but I didn't enjoy it as much as I did MGS3. I'll probably finish them at some point though.

Interestingly this is one series where playing it chronologically isn't the most sensible thing in places. Things get ret-conned quite often in the later games, so something that may have been true in MGS 3, that was ret-conned in MGS4, just to be changed again a bit in MGS: PW is going to get confusing (I can't think of any examples, that made up one is awful).
The magic of PC is ruined by people like you.
I wasn't literally saying PC is better you can still play games for games with a pc. [editline]4th January 2015[/editline] I guess I probably worded it like shit, sorry but just because you own a pc doesn't mean you have to mod it. but you can replay the game after your bored, is the point
I feel like I'm missing out on something big whenever I hear about Metal Gear Solid...

This is why you play in release order so you can experience the progression of the series and because it's how it's meant to be played. MGS3 explains elements of MGS2 and makes reference to it while Peace Walkers first (or was it second?) ending is a massive reference to MGS4s plot.
I bought that game thinking "heck why not buy a MGS game besides rising". I understood nothing about the plot. What MGS games should I play to understand it?
Revengeance is the last game in the story and you should play in release order. Which is: MSG1>MGS2>MGS3>MGS4>PW>GZ>TTP. You're suppose to play MGRR after PW and if you want you can play MG1 and MG2 before MGS1 but they're super dated and barely canon now.
what if I just want to put the game in and play rather then wait a few hours to download and install
What about painfully long install times of MGS4 on ps3?
What about painfully long install times of MGS4 on ps3?
with the trophy update that removed mgo, you can now install all of mgs4 at once, if you have the capacity
What about painfully long install times of MGS4 on ps3?
Hey that's usually 15 minutes while PC games can take hours to download and install

I don't have a PS3 so that really stifled my motivation to continue MGS1 (which follows Solid Snake) because I knew I wouldn't be playing MGS4 (the inevitable conclusion) anyways.
Hey that's usually 15 minutes while PC games can take hours to download and install
Not when buying PC games via retail.
Not when buying PC games via retail.
Who does that? Do they even sell them retail any more?

Its the meta shit that makes MGS4 so good, most of the immediate story is kinda meh. You can honestly watch MGS4 and get everything out of it if you just want the story. But its 10 hours. Try and finish MGS1, then go to MGS2. Really cannot recommend 2 enough. MGS2 ending is where the series of Solid Snake was originally going to end. MGS4 completely invalidates it entirely. I generally look at MGS2 being the real closure of the series(at least with Solid Snake) while looking at MGS4 as a fun ride personally. 4 is the most skippable MGS game aside from Portable Ops. I love 4 but its honestly nothing important, especially considering MGR is canon.

Someone told me they tried explaining the powers of the MGS3 bosses even though they really didn't need any explaining to begin with, alongside turning tons of characters with seeming moral ambiguity into just fullblown villains. This and way too actiony bosses that lacked everything that made the previous games' bossfights fun. Even still, I'm fairly sure I'm going to be finishing the other games, they're just fairly low on my priority list right now because I don't have that much time to begin with.

At least fighting them, not as characters.

When I got through it, I felt like I at least understood most of the plot and most of the stuff that felt unexplained were just funny references as far as I could tell.
