cringeee someone let me know when time machines are a thing so i can stop myself from ever backing this shit tia
If you do, leave some space for me so I can go back Bloodstained instead. Fuck... what a mess this is. Fucking cheap pizza explosions. At least I have the artbook coming. Hopefully... been waiting forever on that.
This game's a big ol' mighty number 2, I tell you what.
ARe you serious
Is this Foodfight? Oh goddammit :ninja:
On one hand I feel people are a bit extreme in how harsh they are about the game, but on the other hand I feel glad I didn't back this because it doesn't seem like it was worth the hype three years ago. And keep in mind Inafune already had plans to make this a franchise and there's a cartoon in the works to boot.
I wonder how long it'll be until they announce another delay for the game [editline]25th May 2016[/editline] I'm all for delaying a game and all but you can't justify this kind of nonsense lmao so how is Red Ash the game and the anime doing anyways? :)
I almost backed this. I'm so glad I didn't, oh my god.
This looks like it's really pushing the limits of what the Dreamcast is capable of.

Looks like scam artists go well together
I couldn't even watch the whole trailer I cringed so hard. What a joke.
The major investor that picked it up was a Chinese company trying to publish their own console in what looked to be a massive scam. Looks like scam artists go well together
they should legally be required to put "made in china" under the title every time it shows up
ARe you serious
Three-point-eight million dollars
We could've had Legends 3 but Inafune just had to abandon his "dream project" for this shit.
It went down the tubes the moment they went away from the 2d drawn art style they had in concept art in favor of the 3d bullshit that looked like it was made in the free trial of Z-Brush by a small child.
What is PR
[editline]derp[/editline]
ARe you serious
Good lord, the presentation at 0:50 is borderline unacceptable, especially with a 4 million dollar budget. Cheesy explosions, background that is 90% boring skybox, hardly any infrastructure; it just looks so lazy and effortless.
It went down the tubes the moment they went away from the 2d drawn art style they had in concept art in favor of the 3d bullshit that looked like it was made in the free trial of Z-Brush by a small child.
I was really pumped from this image when the kickstarter first came out, but goddamn how it went to shit.
We could've had Legends 3 but Inafune just had to abandon his "dream project" for this shit.
to be fair, at the rate inafune was gaining infamy within the company due to constantly going against exec orders to fund projects they didn't believe in (which turned out to be successes anyway, like dead rising in particular), they were probably going to go all Konami on him at some point
It went down the tubes the moment they went away from the 2d drawn art style they had in concept art in favor of the 3d bullshit that looked like it was made in the free trial of Z-Brush by a small child.
They said from the very start that the game would be in 3D. And it looks like an HD PSP game, which.. isn't saying a lot, but still.
I like how it's becoming clearer and clearer that all of the Megaman problems over at Capcom were probably Inafune's fault entirely, and they weren't canned to 'spite him'. He has no idea what the fuck he's doing and this is the trash you get when you fund him well over what they needed. It genuinely looks like a lower tier Dreamcast game with slightly improved lighting.
They said from the very start that the game would be in 3D. And it looks like an HD PSP game, which.. isn't saying a lot, but still.
I was under the impression that it'd be 3D stages with cartoony textures and shaders with 2D drawn elements.
Legit I would call this game pretty acceptable graphically if it had a smaller team and was self funded I mean, look at it this way. Low budget, maybe a solo or 3 man studio trying to make this. If that were the case this game would honestly graphically look fucking steller for a team of that size But like, for the funding they've recieved, this looks very underwhelming. It looks like something from maybe 2005-2009. And look, graphics aren't everything I get that, but honestly I also get why people are mad. This game would look really excellent for a PSP game. It'd be max tier for PSP. But just look at other popular indie games from around 2010-2016. Hell, lets use this as an example because it's the closest to this I can think of (2d side scroller in 3d) Rochard [t]http://media1.gameinformer.com/imagefeed/screenshots/Rochard/Rochard_screen_01.jpg[/t][t]https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/F5hOkcXl0aea9oVU78-ynWZbPJRYPtOPsRC5WJrBUOYJr0Txe78UeHQ1TBOBboIy4VdV8h5UnlnOLM9TgMzzfR2U07kvjYXU6Xsu4dNn--40bcKuyMM?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1339636826995[/t][t]http://www.cinemablend.com/images/gallery/s34412/Rochard_13137858456407.jpg[/t][t]http://www.cinemablend.com/images/gallery/s34412/Rochard_13137858456765.jpg[/t] (2nd image is modified, but uses the actual character model I believe) it isn't the most impressive game out there but it looks very decent on the eyes for a small title. It's a really excellent game and it has a good balance of low res/poly while still looking quite good. But then you look at this. I don't know, the models are stylized but the faces look very cheap, they're using techniques for the face that I recall seeing being used back in Mario 64. While it doesn't look terrible it gives me the impression that the rest of the game may not be very well polished. [t]http://i.imgur.com/GFeZMfW.jpg[/t] All of the details are really just textured on, don't even have any bump mapping, it looks like they use hl2 phong mapping, which makes everything look weird and greasy. it isn't very impressive and it makes me wonder if the graphics really are representative of the game itself. Is the programming and gameplay as lazy as this?
Three-point-eight million dollars
[T]http://i.imgur.com/4kTupcb.jpg[/T] "Tight budget"
I was really pumped from this image when the kickstarter first came out, but goddamn how it went to shit.
you know, the sad thing is that even in this concept art the background is incredibly simple, the only things that make it stand out are the character drawings and lighting I still say they should've waited for UE4, because the game's running on UE3 and by god they didn't really take advantage of it either
you know, the sad thing is that even in this concept art the background is incredibly simple, the only things that make it stand out are the character drawings and lighting I still say they should've waited for UE4, because the game's running on UE3 and by god they didn't really take advantage of it either
Honestly even if they did use UE4 or another engine it wouldn't look really look or play better since Inafune and his team lacked any semblance of a good vision and design in the first place. Plus, the fact they were making announcements of having a series adaptation, starting another crowdfunded project separately for another game with a separate one for an anime even while their initial game hasn't even been released yet are all signs of just a quick money grab.
It's agent orange literaly orange at least i mean, that is orange right? i can't really tell tbh, I have some degree of colorblindness
Nah dude it's pure, concentrated Cheeto dust.
Three-point-eight million dollars
:why:
You know, my Foodfight comment was just a joke about the poor graphical quality at first, but come to think of it, both also had hilariously overblown budgets.
[long] :why:
this paints MNo9 in such pathetic light when you think about how these games don't just look pretty, but also are considered wildly successful (I've not heard of Dragons crown though) now we just have to wait and see how good the gameplay is, and if the graphics are as bad as the gameplay
this paints MNo9 in such pathetic light when you think about how these games don't just look pretty, but also are considered wildly successful (I've not heard of Dragons crown though) now we just have to wait and see how good the gameplay is, and if the graphics are as bad as the gameplay
Gameplay and music are the last things holding it. If they are not tight, it's not going to reach high in reviews.
