Somehow humanity is strong enough to fight its own problems but can't compare to anything from space or magical destructive things like gods and majins (so we can just lump in 'things from Hell' too I guess). And then one angry scientist builds some cyborgs/androids, and manages to make his best works so ridiculously strong that in-universe it took magical training methods for even the full-blooded Saiyans to be able to overwhelm them. And this is without said scientist even knowing about the Super Saiyan transformation.

Dragon Ball is whack.

Holy fuck haha what a weiner. He blows Frieza apart in a single hit then ruins it even worse than the Ginyu force.

Power levels definitely did fuck the storyline a bit. Frieza became such an absolute chump and all the side characters became useless.
