• Guess We'll Have to Use Holo-Lens: Microsoft Announces New Conker Game

Hololens would be a lot better with RTS, horror and city builder games. God only knows why they went with a conker game to showcase it.
does microsoft or rare even listen to its fans anymore? maybe the guys who made the spiritual successor to Banjo Kazooie can make a game based off Conker.

Conker was a good game for its jokes, not really for its gameplay.
I don't think these people even know anything about Conker other than he's a squirrel and a bunch of people like him.
Is it me or is this the first video where they show the severely limited area of projection of the lens the first time.
The game is being made by Asobo studios, who seem to have no experience in anything that isn't either disney shovelware or porting over the crew to xbox 360.
[t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CcV1pn1W0AAO-57.jpg[/t] Don't worry guys we got a classic on the way
all they'd need to do is record the lines while drunk. Kind of loses a LOT of that merit when it's just auto-generating a bunch of platformer collectibles on surfaces around a room, spawning a boss or objective now and again. It's all summed up as a one-off tech demo to show the software can recognize object shapes like couches and send a cue to interact with it differently (IE, character bounces instead of using normal walk animation), and is incredibly disrespectful to a franchise with a huge cult following that has been incredibly outspoken about it over the past few years
Hololens would be a lot better with RTS, horror and city builder games. God only knows why they went with a conker game to showcase it.
Because Yooka Ayle (probably spelling it wrong), is coming out and Microsoft want's to compete.
That model genuinely looks like an error, even though it is purposefully meant to look like that, what the fuck
Because Yooka Ayle (probably spelling it wrong), is coming out and Microsoft want's to compete.
it's yooka laylee but if they really wanted to compete they should probably consider just trashing this, because its just dreadful and makes me feel like there is no hope for the another conker game because microsoft cannot get their head out of their ass and listen to what people really want.
This is animal abuse.
mastapiece
That model genuinely looks like an error, even though it is purposefully meant to look like that, what the fuck
looking back at the thumbnail: it looks like they started modeling a frog but were told to shoehorn the konker franchise in, but were already on a shoestring budget and didn't want to have to start from scratch on the facial rigging
I'm going to kill myself.
Took me til 1:29 to release this is actually a commercial for Microsoft Holo-Lens.
Why does Conker have to be the one Microsoft uses to promote their new shit? Why can't it be someone like Tiptup or Raj from Diddy Kong Racing?
wow can they please just drop conker already unless they're making an even more modern rendition of bad fur day/reloaded or a completely different story they need to stop
You could have chosen LITERALLY ANY ANIMAL BASED IP IN EXISTENCE and it would have worked better for this than conker. Like at least if they used Banjo sure it'd be another kick in the nuts but it's at least what hes known for.
That model genuinely looks like an error, even though it is purposefully meant to look like that, what the fuck
It's like one of those dolls where the eyes pop out when you squeeze the body, but the body never went back to it's original form.

This couldn't describe it any better, it's the exact reaction I had upon seeing the thumbnail. Every inch of my body shriveled up in disgust. God, he looks more like Scrat from Ice Age than Conker.

I showed it to someone who's never played Conker, or even seen the original before and he was disgusted by the model as well. The failure already begins at the thumbnail, how do you even begin to screw up this bad?
Game looks fun, Conker's model looks like a squirrel fetus.
Microsoft just make another mechwarrior please
There's no one they're doing this by accident anymore.

He looks like those babies born without a brain...
How anyone at Microsoft thought this would be fine is astounding.
It doesn't even look like Conker. It doesn't even have anything to DO with Conker. This isn't a Conker game. You don't play Conker for gameplay or platforming or whatever, you play Conker primarily from the crude humor. He's not just a blank slate for platforming use like Mario or Crash Bandicoot or whatever. You can't just slot him in like that. If you were gonna make a Conker game, why not make an actual Conker game? Not like it would matter since Rare is such a shadow of it's former self that a new Conker game by Rare might as well be a new Conker game by Atari or Konami or any other company, but why not at least try if you're going to hold on to the IP? I guess because Microsoft isn't interested in Conker being what Conker actually is, they're more so interested in Conker as their generic platformer mascot that they can slot in to whatever dog puke gimmick product they need him for next.
Honestly, even with the bad Conker aside, this whole attempt to sell the 'game' as a HoloLens thing looks way too much like a superimposed CGI greenscreen video while being choppy all the while. I mean if the technology works, cool, but the product looks like it could be essentially hologram Kinect, and we all know how awful the Kinect was for games in the first place.
Is it me or is this the first video where they show the severely limited area of projection of the lens the first time.
Isn't the first time at all, but yeah that's the FoV. But honestly guys, this isn't a game, it's basically a tech demo. Sure it's a kick in the face for fans I guess, but the HoloLens is $3000 right now so it's obviously not meant to be a money maker.
