But with the English and the French it always seemed more like a rivalry not a hate.
France isn't that bad. But have you ever been to Quebec? That place is so french, they have language laws in place to make sure that everything business there operates in french. They forced walmart and mcdonalds and homedepot to change there name to something more french and all the menus in restaurants have to be in french too, or they get fined. If a sign does have english in it then it must also be in french and the french part must be on top and twice as big. There's also a lot of police corruption and political scandals/crime there compared to the rest of the country. In general they act pretty stuck up when it comes to those things.
From the looks of the flag it's a facist gathering.
Most of Asia hates Japan because they haven't apologised for war crimes.
japan only apologized to the philippines as far as i know
the Chinese strongly dislike the Japanese (Because they are cunts)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unit_731 Cunt doesn't even come close
That's an extreme right-wing group (右翼団体); the men in black standing behind her with flags is evidence of that. I bet the poor middle-schooler comes from a family involved with such a group, they're probably using her to speak for them as these groups are typically ignored. The location, Tsuruhashi (in Osaka), is known for a relatively large ethnic Korean population and these groups have demonstrated there a LOT for the last year or so because of rising tensions. The catalyst is the disputed territory of the Liancourt Rocks (Takeshima/Dokdo), usually overshadowed in Western media by the Senkaku/Diaoyu islands dispute with China, but right wing extremists also have beef with the rising popularity of Korean pop culture in the last few years. It's really unfortunate that East Asia can't get its shit together diplomatically and work out these issues. I live in Osaka and I know a few Korean students who have opted to leave Japan because of this crap. (The English subtitles in the video aren't entirely accurate, by the way)
Let me ask a question then, is xenophobia and racism as really prevalent over there as some of the Western media says or are events like that the exception and not the rule?
Let me ask a question then, is xenophobia and racism as really prevalent over there as some of the Western media says or are events like that the exception and not the rule?
as much as any other country with racism and xenophobia.
as much as any other country with racism and xenophobia.
Its a lot more prevalent in Japan because of the Whole closed borders thing meaning that there population is still entirely Japanese and discrimination in the real estate market also makes it hard for non Japanese people to live over there.
