Everything Wrong With "Everything Wrong With Sherlock Holmes"

They don't even seem to take the piss though ..they to say stupid shit for the sake of stupid shit and to add more sins to the counter.
they obviously don't watch the movies at all
I know that you shouldn't take CinemaSins serious, but there are way too many people who take it serious so they use them to fuel their negative opinions of certain movies.
Thanks for the video.
The problem is that, whether you take it seriously or not, trying to make jokes and nitpicking on things that you yourself get wrong about the movie, and then saying "It wasn't meant to be taken seriously" is pretty much a textbook case of "I was just pretending to be retarded"
cinemasins and I became enemies when they made a video called "everything wrong with robocop" and it wasn't 0 seconds long
even ironically there is nothing wrong with robocop
Okay, I'm gonna be really nitpicky simply because he's nitpicking on someone nitpicking - but actually playing it straight.
I won't say I can figure out how fast a horse and buggy can go, but at 2:00 he refutes CS's point by quoting the "average" speed of a horse and buggy. That doesn't say anything about how fast it actually can go. If you include the fact that I lie down or sit most of my time, my average speed is probably pretty slow. Doesn't mean I couldn't move much faster if I wanted to.
Like I think it's fair to rag on CS, and I haven't watched their videos for quite a while, but if you're gonna complain about someone else's nitpicking being wrong, you should at least live up to your own standard.

Yeah, "intentionally ignorant satire" is quite literally "pretending to be retarded": look at me being all stupid and laugh at it, don't forget though that I'm not actually stupid, I'm in fact very smart.
I'll be honest, I like(d) cinemasins unironically, but it really puts in perspective how often people will give attention (and money) to whoever will say something with wit and confidence, no matter how incorrect or forced it is.

I also liked how he justified the criticism and stuck it to the habit of "Schrodinger's Irony" that ends up being a crutch for laziness.
Oh, and

So did Cinemasins say mean things about all your favourite movies or
[editline]ding[/editline]
It's ultimately just entertainment at the end of the day, I never saw anything claiming that their videos were meant to be taken as serious reviews and saying "B-but people do take them seriously!" isn't really that much of a criticism against the creators themselves. They can't really help it when ill-informed people take their word as gospel.
I'm not saying CS is the greatest thing ever, but it seems a little sad to me that someone out there got mad enough to make a Cinemasins sins video.

So is "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo". "Entertainment" is no excuse for a blatant lack of standards.
[editline]22nd May 2016[/editline]
To elaborate: if any given statement is both legitimate criticism and """satire""" until I look it up, then it's shitty criticism and shitty satire. Even more so when they try to frame the parody as actual criticism until someone notices that it isn't true, at which point it was always "just a joke, geez".

if you actually watched the videos, specifically the second one, you'd understand that he carries the same dumb opinions in the real world. beyond that his "joke" opinions are dangerous to movies both good and bad because people are going to misconstrue his "joke" opinion as real fact to his fans due to the power of his name and his opinion.

It's not that people take it seriously, it's that it fails as entertainment because more than half of the 'sins' stated aren't even real. In fact, some of them are constructed.
pluuuus it's basically a rewritten version of the old "I was only pretending to be dumb" trope that acts as a swiss army blade for opinions (see the Schrodinger's example) when in reality it fails on both ends and makes his videos fail on both fronts as both a comedy (which is pretty lacking if I must say) and as a proper critique (also lacking.)
you have to critique this kind of thing or else people start to take it as fact. see: game theory and the legions of fans who believe him and his batshit joke theories even though his whole shtick is upfront and obvious.

Fucking Game Theory. I had someone post one of his videos in a chat room I go to saying "this isn't actually a theory, he's just describing something that's actually true" and when I started to pick it apart the guy was like "it's just for fun, why do you have to take it seriously, he never claimed that his videos are accurate."
Some people are just that fucking stupid, and would rather believe something because it sounds interesting even if all evidence points to it being wrong or made up. Channels like Game Theory capitalize off of people like that. It wouldn't be anywhere near as popular if everyone who watched it was aware that it's bullshit. Same with Cinemasins, both channels can outright say that they're full of shit and people will still believe them, and only use their "we're full of shit" statements as a defense to criticism. That type of cognitive dissonance isn't just possible, it's frighteningly common.
So did Cinemasins say mean things about all your favourite movies or
I actually like to specifically look if Cinemasins made a video on movies that I liked, because I think it is funny. But it becomes stupid when the nitpicking itself is shit. Watch the second "everything wrong with everything wrong with" video posted here, it points out some actually funny nitpicks that Cinemasins missed, like the blastwave tearing a tank apart while only pushing aside some soldiers that were standing even closer to it.
CS aren't funny enough to be satire, but are also way too nitpicky to be taken seriously
I never understood what those videos are supposed to be, especially since most of the sins are actually explained in the movie and aren't sins at all
I enjoy CinemaSins' videos but I enjoy these videos more tbh
you can make legitimate critisisms about films and still be funny.
just look at the plinkett reviews
cinema sins is such abysmal garbage
You've gotta remember that CinemaSins literally fucks up themselves and rocks that on their sleeve. The whole point is to nit-pick stupid shit nobody else would notice for an entertaining video. The narrator's favorite movie happens to be a movie that they did a video on as well. Pretty sure it was the Matrix.
The whole point is to show you some goofy things you didn't/ wouldn't see unless you were obviously trying to hunt it down.
to someone who does actually like these videos I mean this sincerely, what is the appeal?
The narrator's voice is annoying and the sins are overwhelmingly pedantic and as shown several times, either plain wrong, or something no one would consider a "sin". There's also this incredible air of smugness radiating off the guy that he's somehow oh so much smarter than the rest of us for not liking fast and furious or a marvel movie

Yeah but the problem is that they're not true. He's not "hunting them down" all the time, he's inventing them either whole cloth or deliberately misconstruing things that should be obvious if you've watch the movie.
There was a segment on the daily show a ways back when John Stewart was on the show about why they do so much research and tried to be as accurate as possible when other actual news shows weren't. They explained that a joke isn't really funny unless it's true.
And age of ultron is by all means a pretty bad movie - but this guy still manages to fabricate 'sins' for his video, ignoring the huge wealth of things the movie legitimately does badly. they're just flat out awful critiques.
i was kinda ok with cinemasins but i don't watch them much
if you ever see 'gamingsins' don't fucking watch it, i don't know if it's an official spinoff or some other jerkoff but it is astoundingly irritating to listen to

Oh my God, the GTA V one is missing blatant satire and it's extremely painful. But apparently they aren't connected. https://www.reddit.com/r/CinemaSins/comments/3e7mo9/is_gamingsins_a_copy_or_do_you_guys_know_about/
CinemaSins is like the DSP of movies.
But without even that much self-awareness.
Not. Even. Fucking. Close! Don't even compare CinemaSins to DSP! CinemaSins is self-aware, but its not for everyone. DSP is a legit asshole who blames people for his fuckups.
I prefer CinemaWins over CinemanSins
Sorry.
Sorry.
Apology accepted. I should apologize too for my little comment, and well I got a bit furious that DSP is still around despite his massive viewer count drop. But yeah he's still awful.
There seem to be quite a few different channels who do "gaming sins", of varying quality.
