A regular tight-arse response to a friend's death would be, "Oh it happens all the time, it doesn't matter to me. It's all a part of nature." If that's the way "sophisticated" people treat their friends, I would rather be friends with a "thug".

Christ, I make one little statement and you people think I'm Mr. Freeze in a crumby suit with a notebook full of speeches. I'm not cold, I have a heart, and you seem to have misinterpreted what I meant. I understood the situation, and understood [i]everything[/i] he said (Living in New York is nothing special, I'm from here and have lived here most of my life.) I know that he was talking to him like he would any day they were together, as if they were actually speaking with one another. I'm not saying "Oh, people die every day", but him speaking like that did not help me make any connection. In fact, it reminded me of a personal thing that pisses me off whenever I am reminded of it (A funeral, and how it mocked my family member). So please, no more of this "I'm going to say something that completely antagonizes this guy, because he apparently has no heart and is a shallow bastard." And yes, I did start feeling choked up when he reminisced about the phone calls and his friend not picking up. What ruined it was him speaking like that.

I've always had this belief that people who went out of their way to be nice to strangers usually had a rather average relationship with the ones close to them. You can't be nice to everyone.

In all fairness though, if you people get this worked up over a video, I'd hate to see how you'd all react to a relative of yours dying. I don't like people determining my moral compass based on my reaction to a petty video. The video in question is indeed sad, but if I want to cry over something, I'll do it on my own accord.
