Looking at those gifs are a prime example of how much has changed since GTA V. Animations definitely seem less awkward
Sounds like Driver SF's warp feature with people.
Yeah I'd imagine it'll be like that.
Wait, do you need to complete the Missions with all 3 characters or are there diffrent ones for everyone?
Dunno, in certain missions you'll have all 3 tag along, and you can switch between whoever you want during those missions. But I also wouldn't doubt that they'll have their own indivudual missions too.
* Characters will work together during missions, and you can switch between characters mid-mission to fulfill different roles. For example, during a chase sequence you can pilot the getaway helicopter as Trevor, snipe pursuing pilots as Franklin, or fire an assault rifle as Michael.
* Missions will have a "very different tone depending on who's on them, how many people are on them, and how much we're using switches", says Houser.

I liked Franklin's trailer the most, it showed off car handling and pedestrian movement the most.

The lighting is amazing.
The lighting is indeed amazing, definite improvement over 4.
* Big advances to lighting and shader model. Greater draw distance.
Oh yes, especially for the pedestrians, they fully mo-capped them this time around.
* Pedestrians are fully mo-capped and more interactive.

never really understood this. yeh gta4's character customization was a bit lacking but it's not like i ever felt the need to change clothes other than to sometimes switch between a suit and something more casual. and then i never really got the deal with customizing cars in gta because you only ever keep a car for like 10 minutes and then ditch it or destroy it in my experience. like in gta4 when bernie gifts you that sports car and i was done with it within half an hour
Yeah you're definitely right about the cars, it never really felt like any of the cars you owned were truly yours, they might change it in this one, it might have dealerships you can go to, junkyards, and autoshops. Maybe even introduce a gameplay mechanic like the garage in Saint's Row so you can permenantly own different vehicles.
Looks like the game will definitely be worth the wait.
I saw Trevor lying on his back Max Payne style. Maybe he can shootdodge?
Might just be a downing system. If the game does end up having 3 man coop (which would be an awesome idea that R* should cash in on), it'd be cool to have a system where if you're killed you just fall back and can't move/can kind of shuffle around until one of your buddies picks you up

I'm hoping they took a lot of what they learned from Max Payne 3 and put it into GTA V in terms of on-foot gun combat.
Not really keen on Franklin, from what's been shown in this trailer it looks like the generic ghetto gangster story, nothing too special IMO.
Trevor is right now my favorite of all the 3 characters, playing as a fucked in the head drug addict sounds exciting.

You can bet your money on that. Just looked at how the gun-play evolved from GTAIV to RDR to Max Payne 3!
If this game has the gunplay of MP3 it will be the best gta of all time
I found the song they used.

I don't even like this kind of music and this is stuck in my head.

I like how those gifs and their several seconds of animation basically tell you everything you need to know about the basics of their characters.
I'd wager that you can switch between then anytime during freeroam and anytime during a mission that involves all three, but not during a mission that just involves one of them. Would make the most sense imo.
I'm liking Trevor, personally. The crazier the better.
Also keep in mind the devs who make GTA (Rockstar North) are not the same as the devs who made Max Payne 3 (Rockstar Vancouver), while they do share some tech, writers etc they're not the same.
I hope they nicked a ton of MP3's shooting mechanics though, they were baller as fuck.

GTA V is being worked on by all Rockstar Devisions combined, It's just that they stick by the name of the devision that has previously developed the titles (basically everyone moves over to RSN while making gta v, then goes back to their own devision after they've completed the game)
at least, according to a big fatass in the GTA thread.
Michael is like, the embodiment of every single of my Pen and Paper game characters
I love the way that they're intertwining the stories too. Franklin seems like a callback to the earlier GTAs, while Michael is reminiscent of 'Payday', and Trevor heavily reminds me of a hopped up Jesse from 'Breaking Bad'.
For some reason, Trevor reminds me of H.M. Murdock from the A-Team. Just more violent :v:

Huh, I didn't know that. RSN has always been my fave division though since they're scottish and made lemmings and GTA. That said I've noticed with games like MP3 and RDR that there's a lot of contributions by other studios and for a massive release like this I don't see that letting up.
Then why buy it? What have they added? I'm not going to shell out $60 for a GTAIV level pack, they better have added something. GTAIII added 3D, GTAIV added Euphoria and way more detail into the city, so GTAV better do something cool too.
do you even know what a 'level pack' is
by your logic, hl2 episode 1 and 2 are 'level packs' (both games you bought, btw)
I can't wait
5 more months ahhh
anyone wanna help me freeze myself
Trevor is my favorite.

Holy fuck, look how fast Trevor swings that bat. And how fast it comes back to him and he regains control of it. It's like the animation was fastforwarded for a moment there.

I think if they intentionally did that they were trying to show off that trevor has... "experience" with things like this.
Wow, the post-processing make this look pretty good.

Is it racist to say that when I saw Michael and Trevor's trailer, I could clearly see who was who, but when Franklin's trailer came up, they all sort of looked the same?
they nailed the lighting this time
