Wow, the post-processing make this look pretty good.
Makes me think it's going to be released on current gen and next gen. Some of the footage in those trailers looks like it could be from next gen, some looks like it could be from current gen.
That's a silly statement, look at Red Dead.
Red Dead was fine, but if you play GTA IV on PC at decent settings and then you switch to the Xbox version, it's just not the same once you've tasted the higher framerate. The graphics were okay on Xbox, but I just couldn't digest that 20-25 framerate

They've made massive advancements in both visuals and optimization since then. GTA V probably won't run at any more than 30 FPS, but I don't think it will have the same framerate problems that IV had, even with all the extra detail. And shit, just be glad you never had to play the PS3 version, especially with EFLC. I swear the game could dip down to 15 FPS or even 10 FPS at times.
Insanely glad this is till being released for the "old gen" consoles. There's no way in hell this would ever run on my PC. If they couldn't even get a good framerate on the ads of the game, you just knew it would be shit optimization.

GTA IV actually ran worse on better hardware for me.

Everything in that trailer seemed to be running at very low FPS.
I'm hoping there is a Drive inspired mission somewhere in this game.
Hes got those big puppydog eyes
Wow, I didn't know that Bill Murray agreed to star in GTA V!
I'm hoping there is a Drive inspired mission somewhere in this game.
oh yes I watched Drive the other day and everything about it was brilliant including ryan gosling mmmm ryan gosling

You ever drive into more than 2 pedestrians at once?
yeah so did the xbox
To a point, yeah, but from what I played of GTA IV on Xbox I never saw framerate dips like the ones on the PS3 version, though that could just be because I played the PS3 version much later with higher standards for resolution and framerate. Point is, GTA IV was just generally massively unoptimized, even on consoles. Though I'll still never understand the PC optimization that makes some high-end rigs chug more than a prebuilt at times.

HD textures and ENB here I come.
its the shadows. turn them off and everything runs great.
i actually have to play at the lowest settings (besides view distance and definition, cranking those up is a must) because of my outdated rig :v: my point was that comments like this
GTA IV actually ran worse on better hardware for me.
aren't too uncommon. It has to have the most enigmatic performance I've ever seen from a PC game, even just reinstalling the game can somehow make it run better or worse for no real reason.
The game turned from being almost unplayable to smooth as butter when I upgraded from my Q9550 to a 3570K - weirdly I can turn all the sliders up to maximum or down to minimum and it doesn't make a blind bit of difference to performance I hope this means we've got to the point where we can just bruteforce performance out of GTAIV but I bet in the future it'll still only work well on certain processors
i hope you get police attention while having a gun in your hands.
It was the first game that I can think of that showed real polish and quality in the in-game cutscene aspect of games.
What is the MGS series for 200.
I have a feeling that Franklin's story will be much, much deeper than just a generic gangster, making two interesting characters and one generic one wouldn't make any sense
I'm getting that vibe too, especially since they already dedicated an entire game to that kind of story. Shit's gonna be cash as fuck.
i hope you get police attention while having a gun in your hands.
yeah i thought it was weird that everyone would run if you pulled out a rocket launcher but the police wouldn't give a shit in gta iv.
I'd love to be able to perform heists and robberies during sandbox gameplay.
Oh my god, I can't wait for this to get released.
I hope the police aren't as strict as in IV. You could kill one person and then have a wanted level, while it's realistic it's not very fun after a while. In San Andreas you could get away with quite a lot which added a bit more freedom to the game, and if you wanted the police after you it wasn't hard either. I always thought the Grand Theft Autos were based in a universe where the cops are fat, lazy and useless. You can kill people and easily get away but go too far and you have tanks chasing you in the streets, THAT was fun, not what happened in IV.
have you played IV recently? the police were fairly lenient towards you running people over or shooting the odd person unless they actually saw you
That's the problem, they always see me. I'm constantly seeing like 3 police cars in the area, if i run around the corner there will be 2 more. It's like I'm constantly being watched and I dare not do anything.
This game is going to win so many awards.
Wow I wasn't really thinking of buying this but now I think I will.
