Surely that's just an argument for sub-classifications? i.e. military jets and transport jets can both be considered under "jet planes".

In languages words can mean two completely unrelated things, or two similar things, or can mean the same thing with slight variations. It's a word, get over it.
Today I found out there are a lot of butthurt people who don't like the word drone being used for something as innocent as an rc helicopter. Had no idea this was a problem.
Maybe it's an American thing because when I hear the word drone the first thing I think of is a small, unmanned aerial machine.
