tbh i thought the water looked much better on watchdogs. the GTA IV water looked a little syrupy.
Yeah, but the video's there to display the effects of the water when something impacts it, which are way better made.
Did anyone happen to catch the build number of the leaked copy?
When was it leaked? If it was only a few days it's most likely the same as the 27th release will be.
Yeah the water was the only thing I liked better.
I don't know much about watch dogs... does the hacking gameplay make up for these missing environmental features?

I suppose several days/weeks of the same leak that had the bitcoin miner virus in it.
Some rumors are saying the current leak is supposedly missing 8GB of data from it, which leads me to believe its an earlier build. Can anyone else confirm?
oh man that fire hydrant part really bummed me out
These are two different game studios who worked on two different games. Why make the comparison at all?

The leaked build is only 13GB

Been off the internet for the past few weeks? There's a huge bandwagon the size of a graboid going around that watch dogs is the disappointment of the year.

The style of the 2 games (open world modern city) +the amount of time difference from the 2 releases and how they stack up despite those differences.

that and its "Next gen" and yet it can't even go above what the last generation did
He's not even playing watch dogs maxed out though, i'm pretty sure actually.
[editline].[/editline]
Have some pictures of max settings (though shitty fps (15-30) because ubisoft games suck performance wise)

The number of people calling this an "unfair comparison" is astounding. Get your head out of your ass, "different studio" and "better gameplay" does not make up for a severe lapse in promised next generation graphical fidelity when compared with a game many years older than watch dogs.

From what everyone has been saying/posting all over, Ultra-maxed graphics still makes the game look like shit.

I'm glad I didn't buy into any of the hype for this game.
Because its Ubisoft. If it has their name on it, best course of action is just simply be skeptical with ANYTHING they do. That way you avoid a huge amount of disappointment and wasted cash.

As someone who has recently completed the game, I'll have to say you're missing out.

You're missing the point. You're not going to get a great game story and graphics wise because you can't scratch walls with the ass of your car?
From what I've heard the current leak just upscales on resolutions past 720p so I'm pretty sure it's not the final

It feels like SR2 when you play it. Almost like a shitty clone.

the story of doesn't even make sense
ill spoiler it just in case, but this is the first 15 minutes of the game
[sp] you're a criminal robbing a place, and apparently you've been done it before, so the people you rob get angry at you and send a hired goon to hurt you, your daughter dies in the process, and now suddenly you're a "vigilante"
oh and to make it better? when you go around the city you can hear people say "oh i bet that's the guy from the news!" how the fuck do people know that, why don't the police just go after me 24/7? how the fuck are there pictures of Aiden in the news if all the cameras and what not blur him out? [/sp]

Ubisofts inability to make those little details in a "next-gen" game is simply embarrassing. And I find it hard to take any of their games seriously when so much of their style of storytelling feels ridiculously contrived.
I guess you could say I have a healthy grudge against them.

[sp]1. He has always been a "vigilante", it's just that it was the first time his family had been targeted. (and it was his niece)
2. The police don't know about you 24/7 because the public mostly support your doings. It is also mentioned multiple times throughout the game.
3. I believe it's only the profiler app that blocks Aiden from being recognised.[/sp]
my favorite graphical effect from watch_dogs is the interior simulation on skyscrapers
look at this

each game excels at some places, Rockstar has more experience with Open world games that involve cars/cities while ubisofts open world games are assassins creed where your always on foot and have to not worry about headlights and stuff. the graphical quality clearly shows on each.
stuff i never seen in gta iv/v that i have seen in watchdogs is your character reacting to stuff on-foot (car almost hits player, the player character puts his hands towards the car to brace it for example). Something Ubisoft excells at.
The game is really good imo, theres a ton of sidemission content. I spent 10-20 hours so far in watch dogs and im only act II into the game because i want to keep doing the cool sidemissions.
lets not forget this is Ubisofts first jump into a current-time open world game. next game they will probably fix all those problems you guys have with the graphics.
Rockstar really know how to put that extra polish in a game. All their games have such little details in them that you would never even think about that make the environment so much more believable.
I still think that GTA V feel more next gen than most other next gen games despite it being only on last gen consoles.
It's hilarious how they make the big next gen games look poorly put together, as shown in that video.
rockstar are pretty notorious for their attention to detail though
for fuck's sake, max payne's boot's toebox volumetrically creases when he walks and crouches

Far Cry 3's introduction's sequence ring any bells? Family member dying, in the first few minutes of gameplay, ITS SOO SAAAAAAD?
This really has proved my point about Ubisofts style of storytelling being contrived and crappy.

I'm not trying to force anyone to like this game but I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the campaign. There was not a single time during it that I thought about the lack of dynamic shadows or decals on walls. Now that it has been pointed out, it is bugging me. Despite this I managed to make it through the game without noticing it because I was too much into the actual story of the game.
I feel like people are giving the developers a hard time over something relatively unessential to the experience they wish to create, but then again I'm not everyone so obviously there will be people who disagree and feel that it's more important.

people are just dissapointed it's not the next gen game it promised to be.
however regardless of what you think about the in-game stuff those cutscenes look pretty sexy

Dont blame it on the devs, one ex-dev who worked on watch_dogs just did some shit on /v/, hell the thread is still up but the guy is gone.
Its the suites that ruined the game.
