I'm just REALLY wondering how he managed to not piss off anyone with it. Not a single vocal internet sjw like Ian Miles Cheong has crawled out of the woodwork to complain. Mind, those are the people who got upset about a roller derby costume in heroes of the storm.

u can produce a good song with a nice mix without spending millions of dollars. i have mates doing production at uni who would do a better job at this for free. these guys make a living doing this shit so uh yeh it's gonna get criticised

you can say "but they're just doing it for fun!" all you want but at the end of the day it is the same price as a professional album being produced with overheads you can't even imagine so i'm gonna lay my cards on the table and say the production quality is terrible
The artist being an amateur says nothing about the quality of the music they produce.
Also it being intentionally shit doesn't mean it stops sounding like shit or that it becomes enjoyable.

Far from everyone uses pitch correction. Also, the "autotuned" thing here referred to the overdone "autotune effect" that people like kanye west use, which somebody mistaked the double tracking in the singing for. Not subtle pitch correction, which may or may not be there.
