Has there ever been a period in history where children were able to seek out and consume such extreme/weird content? I'm not usually a "think of the children" types, but it is genuinely a bit disturbing to think of kids watching this nonsense. My parents and lots of my friends weren't allowed to watch Ed, Edd & Eddy because apparently that was too mind-numbing.. I can't imagine what these kids are like watching this.
Seek out? Probably not. And this is definitely no the right example, but I recently started watching Ren & Stimpy again after a break of 15+ years (I had distinct memories of loving but at the same time being horrified in a sort of fun way) and my god that is one disturbing show. In fact it is so well done I'd say it gets more and more disturbing as you get older. Goofy violent cartoon for kids, a look into torture, emotional abuse and depravity for adults. I think I have not seen a show like it and I am counting all the adult animated shows I am watching at the moment.

I watched R&S as a kid and even though there are clearly adult themes and jokes, it's kind of like other shows like Spongebob where the adult content is only relevant to adults and it passes straight over the children's heads. This is literally people squeezing boobs and farting in each others faces and watching 20-something year old men dance around in their underwear. Also on the Newgrounds note, it's probably worth saying that Newgrounds was never as mainstream and widespread as YouTube is right now. Virtually every child with access to the internet is going to be navigating YouTube regularly I'd say. Newgrounds is/was very niche in comparison.
The thing I don't get with these channels is what's the deal with Spiderman and Elsa? Why those two specifically?
Out of reluctance to give any of these things views, what kind of comments are left? Random keyboard face rolling or bot-level word salad?
From what I've seen, it's a mix of both, with a lot of actual bots.
Not really toy channels, but related. My little sister usually watch MLP content on YouTube, and while me and my parents weren't particularly looking, she stumbled across this: I knew only because I hadn't logged out of my YouTube account and checked my history after she watched a few videos. She also watched a few of those Toy Channels videos, sometimes it's just someone playing with play-doh and it's all fine, but every now and then, it's those weird videos. Needless to say, we're now monitoring what she watches and the time she spends on her computer. YouTube recommendations are pretty fucked.
We're gonna find out about this again in like 10 years when there's a bunch of kids grown up sayin' "Yeah the internet is totally fucked i was raised on gore and fetish porn of children's characters just hanging out on youtube"
I miss their older reaction videos, H3H3 just isn't the same anymore.
youtube isn't the same
I feel like youtube thumbnails are advertisments of the future. Youtube statistics are probably going to be more accurate than any survey that's been done before. The amount of views these videos get... It all feels so dirty.
The thing I don't get with these channels is what's the deal with Spiderman and Elsa? Why those two specifically?
Because boys love spiderman and girls love elsa. The reason its spiderman more often than say batman is because spiderman is very colorful and red, which is what kids love. Thats also why joker is often there, cause he is quite a colorful and goofy character. Frozen and elsa are currently still hot shit for girls, hence why she is often in those kind of videos.
i remember my sister is telling me about how my little naphew had a time where he cant sleep with the lights off. it made her very suspisous so she checked the youtube history, it was videos titled "scary baby" that made him really scared
Wouldn't surprise me if all these toy channels were ran by bots that just mass produce the videos.
Wouldn't surprise me if all these toy channels were ran by bots that just mass produce the videos.
i would agree if its 3d animated, but the one with actual people in it is whats worrying me

A lot of the videos straight up become fetish porn the longer you sift from them, like, ramping up what they're getting away with
I'm generally of the mindset that it's up to parents to watch over what their kids are doing, but honestly just ban this shit youtube, it's wildly inappropriate for children to be watching and it's deliberately masquerading as children's content, and it's also just fucking trash say what you will about violent games and porn but violent games and porn do not pretend to be for children [editline]26th January 2017[/editline] I think prostitutes have more dignity and self-respect than the Bradberry Bunch
A lot of the videos straight up become fetish porn the longer you sift from them, like, ramping up what they're getting away with
Frozen Elsa tying up Bradberry Spiderman and pressing her foot on his groin video when? Bradberry spiderman walking in on sleeping Frozen Elsa and smelling her feet video when? Coby Persin Joker sniffing Frozen Elsa butthole and eating her poo when he sits in the bottom of a port o loo video when? Do you think the concepts for these videos are conceived by typing in words like "fart poopoo peepee" into Google and clicking I'm feeling lucky?
Shit like this is why i dont want to have kids. If the "depraved kids content" category went from ren & stimpy to this creepy pedo crossdressing murder gore scat porn shit in just 25 years, imagine how much worse it will be in another 5-10 years. And its not like you can keep a kid off youtube. Even if you tried, everyone would think you were a crazy abusive conservative shithead.

If this shit doesnt get stopped soon i could see that exact thing happening this year. In 5 years i wouldn't doubt something crazy sketchy like interfacing vr pov spiderman elsa underage pegging videos with electronic animatronic buttplugs, all under the dirction of crazy billionare toy channel modgul creepy uncle bradberry.

Soon, I will become a youtube legend with all these great ideas. Thanks Guys!
Soon, I will become a youtube legend with all these great ideas. Thanks Guys!
You could make a song about this something along the lines of "I sold my soul to the Devil for youtube fame and he gave me a Spiderman mask and a thong and said 'Get to work, boy'"
I can already see that I'm gonna be that evil conservative parent that forces their kids to play with lego and locks up their phones before bedtime
I can already see that I'm gonna be that evil conservative parent that forces their kids to play with lego
Lego is Christ approved and anyone that claims otherwise is a satanic worshiper in disguise.
-snip-
You could steal these videos and resell them as amateur porn clips, and I guarantee you'd make money from perverts wanting to see Elsa help Spider-Man give birth before throwing syringes at the baby.
This is pretty fucking weird innit. Ethan's still got it tho, so to whoever said he's not "the same anymore". Youre wrong maaaaaaate.
I'm always concerned of my 5 y/o niece whenever she's watching youtube videos. My sister tells me she loves watching vids about kids unboxing toys, which is fine, but I'm afraid they're not aware enough how easy it is to delve into the weird part of youtube.
the mystery behind why these toy channels are so disturbing will be one of the great mysteries humanity faces, alongside consciousness and what it means to be.
Sometimes I wonder if these videos were originally an art project about the decline of children's media or whatever that suddenly got way out of hand when people realized that they were actually making good money off of it.
