If you go to Buffalo Wild Wings again anytime soon, you should totally give me the code you get because I want the amazing looking skin but I don't like BWW :v:
There's a code on that shit? Fuck! I'll check next time.
Holy christ Titanfall is £50? What the everloving fuck? No way I'd want to shell that much out!
oh hey that me
This is the most likely thing, there's no conspiracy. They just want BF1 to dominate the battlefield market and Titanfall to take over the COD market, that's all.
wait what? this doesn't make any sense. if they wanted to take over THE SHOOTER market and take the CoD players, that's what Battlefield is for. What does "dominate the battlefield market with battlefield 1" even mean? How do you then try and dominate the CoD market by releasing Titanfall 2 literally right after without even marketing it? No, I don't believe EA would be that stupid. That doesn't make any sense at all. Anyone who plays CoD but might consider BF would have already spent their money on BF1 especially with lack of awareness of Titanfall coming out. The whole thing then begins anew, same thing I explained with people who would buy both BF1 and TF2. You also don't need Titanfall 2 for the CoD audience when the CoD audience already has ripples due to the change in CoD format. All they need to do is release BF1 to take the CoD audience that was already shaken by Infinite Warfare. I just don't buy that.

What rock have you been living under where AAA games aren't usually $60 at launch? 2. It's the best value for money of any competitive shooter this year considering it has free map DLC, free weapon and titan DLC, no season pass, and no microtransactions.

Fucking $50 usd season pass.

i've always been easy to give EA the benefit of the doubt, but honestly if this isn't incredible incompetence (which i doubt they could really have because EA is an incredibly smart company) or the swiftest kick in the dick ea can deliver for one reason or another. there's no real excuse for releasing these two shooters at the same time.
Respawn is comprised of a ton of ex-Infinity Ward employees - IW being a company that was "saved" by an Activision buyout. For them to repeat that mistake would be insane. It is actually standard to have planned free DLC, some developers even have it ready when the game launches - Awesomenauts and Overwatch are great examples of this. Usually, though, it's because the developer has an alternate source of income (such as additional paid DLC or microtransactions) that they can cash in on in return. Titanfall 2 doesn't have any microtransactions or paid DLC, unless they plan on selling singleplayer content (and hopefully they do).
Going from Activision to EA it's like they left the snake in the tree just to make friends with the lying snake in the grass.
My friend did QA for this game. He said employees were instructed to never speak to the EA bigwigs that sometimes show up and leave all the talking to someone at the top of the food chain. He also compared the head of Respawn to Kaz and IW/Activision to Cipher in that he really had it in for them and wanted TF2 to destroy COD:IW in sales. I don't think either of them were expecting to be overshadowed by BF1
