For the love of god let that come back

Add Invader Zim to that, though Jhonen unfortunately seems uninterested in going back to the show.

Given majority of the fanbase created an awful image of the show who can blame him?
Zim had the original terrible fanbase

Megas was fucking golden.
Honestly, I hope that after this, Genndy Tartakovsky goes back and at least wraps up Sym-bionic Titan.

The ending to the "final" season was just way to rushed for my taste, and felt like it glossed over pretty much every group's capabilities.

What image exactly? I'm more of a new fan so I don't know how it was back then (and now, if the case).

Eh, Zim does have a pretty fucking horrible fanbase.

essentially they became what JtHM was making fun of, that annoying mixture of edgy and hyperactive.

Was just a bunch of people going "XD IT SO RANDUM LEL" and basically being more obsessed with Gir and a few quotable moments rather than appreciating the wonderful animation, the dark but still cartoonish storylines and every character that wasn't Gir being interesting.
It's like if people watched Seinfeld and purely focused on Kramer's door gag whilst ignoring everything else.

Look at the fanbase. Where most people said, "aww yis, that show was awesome!" and moves on, you had the proto-cults akin to what we now see with things like MLP, FNAF, and other "cult media".
In short, what originally started as a really unique and fun show, was eventually something that most people don't want to associate with because the fanbase is toxic as fuck. It's mainly a bunch of wannabe goth kids which pretend to have ADHD to act "random and so funny!"
now i gotta rewatch the whole series

Seriously, I was devastated. So little was touched on and there was cliff hanger clearly meant to be answered on the next season. I hope he does come back to this. Honestly, for those that haven't seen Sym-Bionic Titan, it's a great show.

I hate to say it, but unless I hear something about it getting another season, I probably won't watch it. I don't want to feel the pain again.

Cant happen.
Cartoon Network sold the rights to the show to the US Government in exchange for a tax write-off.

Same fate Megas XLR suffered.

Megas XLR is the most american cartoon I can think of so maybe we can petition the government to do the world a service.

Ironically it's also a mild homage and at the same time mockery of typical action-y anime's, also the art style takes hint from it.
So it's if 'MURRICA!" and Japan joined forces to make a westernized show about mechs.
The US gov buys IPs for shows and just holds onto them?

I would assume they're considered assets.

Well, after 10 years the fandom is sorta dead, now it's probably the best moment to rewatch and appreciate that cartoon without having to deal with obnoxious edgy fanboys (unless you browse DeviantArt)
There's probably been enough popular shows lately that most of them have moved on to different things.

I'm not sure that's exactly what happens, but CN writes off "unsuccessful" shows off on taxes. What this means is that the original content cannot be reaired because reasons, but that doesn't preclude the IP continuing on, but it's weird, expensive and difficult to do.
You can read up a little here. A lot to do with the financial bullshit circus of the US. Selling out shares of debts and all that crap

it has a link at the top to the serious technicalities as well
