• You Shall Not Pass. Cats wont let dogs walk by.

The dogs know if they go near, they'll probably get scratched like before, that's why my dog won't go near the neighbour's cat
I had 3 dogs and 2 cats, and one of my dogs was really timid about alot of things and wasn't all there because of alot of past abuse and a seizure, but he was absolutely terrified of going past our cats on the stairs, even though one of them really loved him and liked to try and cuddle up with him. But the cats made him nervous, and the reason is that my other cat would swat at him occasionally because she felt threatened by the other dogs who would get after them whenever they got hollered at. You can't really train cats that easily, but you can train the dog to not care and make the two get along.
It's not the first time when a dog misinterprets a cats will to play to an attack. Cats are pretty aggressive when they are playing and this can be quite strange for a dog, because they don't play the same way. Cats play with dogs like they would play with other cats. Nab their necks and kick and shit. This can be pretty fucking confusing to the dog and it can easily mistake it for a hostile attack and get mentally scarred for life. That's not the cats fault though.
I was wondering what the fuck you guys were talking about but now I understand. Why is this comedy, these dogs are obviously fucking scared of getting attacked by cats every time they have to walk past them. Those cats are out of line and the owners need to train them to stop attacking the dogs
I kind of want to see the dogs scare the shit out of them now. Although I think you guys are treating it a bit too serious
lmao at some of you acting like it's sad and making it sound like it's almost animal abuse or something
When I'm positive that they're being sarcastic and find it hard to believe when I find out that they're being sincere you know someone's saying something really stupid.
My dog was like this for a while with one of my cats. It wasn't a case of my cat being out of line at all, as a matter fact, the dog had been out of line when we first got him, and my cat hit him on the nose once after the dog irritated her massively. She was simply telling him to back off, and she was well within her boundaries to do so. From then on the dog kept away from her, and now they both know just to keep their distance. This doesn't even happen with all cats and dogs. Another one of my cats just loves my dog. She rubs her head against him and licks him when she can, and he licks her fur as well. It's cute. It's quite clear that some people in this thread have never owned a cat.

Give or take, cats are also infinitely harder to train than dogs, because, well, they don't give a fuck.
Teaching cat not to claw is like teaching a dog not to bark. Give or take, cats are also infinitely harder to train than dogs, because, well, they don't give a fuck.
you can very easily teach a dog not to bark actually :v:
you can very easily teach a dog not to bark actually :v:
Yeah, I know, couldn't think of anything that would be similar. Let's say it's as easy as teaching your dog to take a dump in the toilet, wipe its bum and flush the toilet.
My girlfriend's cat is mean as shit. Her cat attacks her dog whenever the dog gets near (like seriously scratch the dog, not play fighting). But the dog is too dumb to recognize the cat as a threat so he always approaches the cat with his tail wagging but the cat just keeps scratching him.
One benefit of my tortoises, they dont give a fuck about anything. "Oh there is a cat laying in my path? I should probably climb it."
When we got our cat from the shelter, he was always threatened by our dog and tried to guard the rooms he frequented by staring the dog down. Naturally my dog was a big coward and wanted nothing to do the cat or his space, but on the occasions that he attempted to socialize with the cat and it backfired, all he had to do was bark. Now at first he was reluctant to do this, but he quickly learned that any amount of barking sent the cat flying. Having gained that knowledge, their relationship developed into a much more friendly one very quickly, as any cat based aggression would quickly be rewarded with a loud bark. For the few years after that (before my dog died, at least) they were great friends.

You can totally train dogs all sorts of shit, and the same for cats, but on average dogs are way more receptive to learning shit. Teaching a cat how to do something is super tough. Don't ask me why, I'm going off of experience on having multiple cats and dogs and all the cats and dogs i know of

I can tell my cats to sit and they do it, I can tell them to get off a table or some other place and they do it, I can make cats NOT want to eat my food, it's pretty cool :v:

She's also really friendly albeit extremely lazy. 80% of the time you'll find her sleeping on a pillow somewhere.
Was pretty funny/cute until they started showing them actually getting past the cats, and 85% of the little bastards attacked the dogs for no reason. Fuck cats.
Need to discipline the cats so that they aren't like this. It isn't comedy, it's dogs being so anxious around cats because the cats can claw the dogs freely but the dog knows if it turns on the cat then it'll be punished by it's owner.

I was wondering what the fuck you guys were talking about but now I understand. Good thing the dogs watched out. Otherwise they might have gotten clawed to pieces like this little helpless rat.
We got a boxer puppy and he was absolutely petrified of our cats for no reason. It was hilarious how he'd tip toe past them. We didn't try to force anything between them and within a couple months they were sharing food and sleeping together.
Cats are fucking mean. My 80 pound black lab mix is terrified of the 5 or so cats in my house.
I'm just after spending 40 minutes looking at a video in the suggestions about Cesar Milan and the most violent dog breeds, crazy stuff.
Cats get away with being little shits because you let them. Dogs must feel pretty shitty when they get all the shit when they do something wrong, but when a cat does it nothing happens.
guys. the cats pat the dogs on their hind legs. that's it. it's a good combination of a dogs stupidity/dependency need and the cats independency/territorial behaviour at play. The dog isn't hurt, and the cat isn't a dick. It's dogs being dogs, and cats being cats.
related dog chilling out w/ cat
that's a beautiful cat
my cats used to do this shit too until I started giving them a smack on the ass every time. Now they don't do it.
my cats used to do this shit too until I started giving them a smack on the ass every time. Now they don't do it.
Yes, because RSPCA is their new home now.
