I thought about it, but 6 gigs would take me ages to DL...
Yeah, I can see where that could be a problem for alot of folks...I don't see anyway to extract the second track from VLC either, maybe they can release it in the future separately.
Holy shit.
How many times have you played through HL2?
More times than I can count. I probably glanced the first time around. The last time I played it, I just tried to find as many details as possible I might have missed.
And yeah I don't think the guy was trying to be a dick or anything, it is was just dumb. He could have done something else: a lot of people did other things while waiting around.
the soldier that was still in the t-pose around 1:11 killed me

The only reason they're doing it is because they're in front of an audience, they're just joking, nothing to fret about at all.
Why does bumping their heads with a prop make them "move?" :v:
If an NPC can't walk/run to their next scripted sequence, they'll just teleport.

I see Gorden had his coffee this morning, but forgot his ADHD medication.
"Follow Freeman"
"Follow Freeman"
One of the runners has one of his single-segment splits called 'Good Luck Following Freeman!'.
That was amazing! The first really long speed run i've watched. And it wasn't one of these 'glitch into the roof run outside the game to the end' style ones.
The practice that goes into these is immense. I watched a guy streaming super mario 64 speed run's once on twitch and i think he reset like 400 times in 10 minutes to get one part down

That has got to be the most impressive thing I've seen done in this section of the game
"You made it here this quickly, Eli is going to be amazed"
Damn right he will be

I love watching speedruns! I usually follow these guys on SpeedRunsLive it's pretty cool.
this is a speedrun that i like, showing actual movement skills and tons of thinking
not like the portal speedrun where he just glitches through everything, the whole video was basically watching noclip
I agree that watching someone go out of bounds for 9 minutes isn't that much fun, but there's also a category where you have to stay inbounds, I'd check it out if I were you.
I don't agree that OOB runs don't require skill though, they can be pretty hard.

Gee, watching this again makes me all nostalgic. Such great atmosphere, got many good memories with this game.
It's pretty hilarious when you can listen to distant NPC chatter about stuff like He won't make it 5 minutes on foot and You broke Alyx's record
I like those hoppermine jumps, very creative.
sv_maxvelocity is fun
It wasn't used?
The newest version of the source engine only limits your velocity moving forwards, which is why ABH (Accelerated Back Hopping) exists, when you move too fast forwards it pushes you backwards slightly, when you move too fast backwards, it speeds you up.
My favorite part is when the speedrunner in the Overwatch Nexus, on their way to the rooftop, takes a desk to the bottom of the stairwell, positions it pointing upwards, steps on one of its legs, blasts it with a combine ball and rockets all the way to the top of the staircase and fizzles two combine soldiers on arrival.
Fucking phenomenal, I can't even conjure proper words to explain how sick that was. Although I have to say staring at butts got a little redundant after like, the second time.
The amount of practice, trial and error, and reflex skills these guys must of undertook blows my mind.
Amazing stuff right there.
But what are exactly the rules to make it a legal speedrun?
I mean, i saw in the ravenholm part he had 1 hp left and gets hit by zombie but didn't die. (probably used buddha)

The zombie hit the door frame

let alone that fast head crab he encountered while 1 hp.
but i think they died many times trying to do that, I at least hope he COULD have died in that clip, but just didn't, as intended.

Are you sure? It clearly does not look like it hits the door frame. You could also hear the sound he's being hit too.
