Somehow I forgot about blade mode despite finishing the game 3 times. Sure that's new but still I feel like it could have been so much more though going off their previous games.
Was Metal Gear Solid 4 really disliked or is that Nerd3 talking out his ass? I've never played a MGS, and started MGS4 after I found it in our PS3 games box years back and I really enjoyed it, the only thing I can imagine people being pissed off with is the 10 year long cutscenes.

MGS4 got a mixed reception.
It was mostly hated because of explaining most of the supernatural elements from the earlier games as nanomachines.
I personally loved it though.

The only thing i can really agree with in this thread is that nerd should stick to simulators and older games. He's not a newer game type of guy for massive titles. But you guys are lampooning the shit out of him and exaggerating aspects of his videos to the extreme.

There's no need to get overly accusatory. I've been subscribed since approximately early last year so I have a pretty good idea about the general aspects of his videos, and I gotta say around a quarter of them are awful because he makes a super-abrupt change in character and just keeps moaning on and on about inane bullshit or how X game is terrible and it just goes [I]on and on and on[/I]. When he's playing games he enjoys it's fun to watch, but when he's playing a game he's apparently obligated to hate for some reason (probably because it's made by people you've actually heard of), it's just some dumb asshat complaining - mostly about things that don't matter or aren't even the game's fault - for half an hour, occasionally trying to make a meme out of something and failing, then calling time and going off to play more gimmicky indie games.
This is no exaggeration. The majority of his videos are pretty good, but every now and then, it just gets really really bad and I start wondering why I'm even subscribed when it's literally just twenty minutes of droning stupidity and annoyance with some dumb poop jokes thrown in. You've already said that he should stick to older games, so I'm sure you can understand why someone would be disappointed and/or annoyed when every couple of months he flips the switch and just starts producing such complete and utter shit.

I don't see anyone here ragging on someone for enjoying NerdCubed; I still enjoy some of his stuff but that won't stop me from criticizing him. It's also worth noting that we haven't brought up GameGrumps or Spike & Barley at all in this thread (even then, you can just look at other threads about GG/S&B and you'll see that they get criticized too).

That's because they've been popular for a while, so of course there are going to be more fans. This is especially the case with GameGrumps (100k subs on the same they the channel was created), and the reason you tend to get more avid fans of the show giving criticism is because they do the same thing almost all of the time without changing much down the line, so you start to see more flaws with it the more you watch it. For "outsiders" the show is funny and fresh because they haven't seen it before.
Besides, what exactly is wrong with "outsiders" criticizing a show anyway? You have to watch something to form an opinion of it.

Honestly it's not my favourite thing he's done but what else can you say about this game other than to laugh about how it tops itself again and again in terms of being batshit retarded? to be honest the game does look goofy as heck which might be a bit jarring to someone who mainly plays western games - and the video's fucking edited, it's not going to show him watching cutscenes in silence because it's not a let's play series, it's a video of highlights of him playing the game. the SWASWASWASWASWA shit is a little grating but I can deal with it, I'm not a fan but I can watch something that might offend my delicate sensibilities for 5 seconds without shitting myself an posting an angry comment on the internet

I don't mean to make casual gaming sound bad, it's only when someone who plays casual series and then plays a game like this and blames everything on the game rather than themselves that bothers me. I'm honestly just more annoyed than usual because of the fact I played the game with none of the problems he had, beaten the shit out of the game because of how much fun I had playing it, and he just goes off on everything that was his fault entirely in the video and labels it as a bad game. Maybe I'm using the word casual incorrectly but when he plays a simulator and praises it, and then plays a game that does require some skill to play through and says how shitty it is and gives up on it entirely... I dunno. I'm mostly just ranting about him at this point, I just can't stand people giving harsh opinions when they don't even know what they're talking about, especially youtube celebs. Sorry if I sounded ridiculous in my first post... and this post probably too.
