I don't think TBBT is that bad.
I never really get why people get so offended over the show like this, to me Big Bang Theory just comes of as really inoffensive.
The Big Bang Theory's writing is horrible. Most of the jokes are the exact opposite, they are not-jokes. The only thing I can think of that ever made me laugh was this one single thing said by a character in the show when my sister was watching it. The whole crew got stranded on the highway dressed as TNG characters to go to Comic-Con and the Indian guy said "come on guys, let's just please call Enterprise." It gave me a chuckle, but that's about it.
Everything in the show that ever made me laugh (and there was very little) had no substance. It was all surface-level humor. There was rarely any set up. There was rarely any content to any of the humor. It was all just...bland. The jokes themselves were all mostly references to existing material. It's a meme show. Literally.
The show's writing gave no reason to be interested in any of the characters. The show's thing is "ha ha look at all these COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PEOPLE interacting with each other, HA HA how funny is that, ha ha look at this nerdy dude, he's fucking some hot blonde girl, WHAT? that doesn't happen! HA HA HA HA".
The only thing that I ever recall having some level of set up was when Sheldon kept talking about how he never drinks alcohol. Later on in the episode Penny puts some in one of his drinks and he makes a fool out of himself in front of a bunch of scientists. That was actually done pretty well for being a poorly written TV sitcom. It had set up and it had a pay off. But that's the only thing I can think of that had anything remotely close to a proper joke going for it.
If it wasn't some surface-level reference joke like "haha we're nerds, we play world of warcraft and talk about fictional universes as if they were real things :^)", it was entirely isolated situations that didn't seem to impact anything else going on. The show all around just felt extremely pointless. What happens in the first 5 minutes has nothing to do with anything at the 15 minute mark.
What makes good comedy is proper set up and proper pay off. This is why Seinfeld is still one of my all time favorite TV shows. Each episode executes it perfectly and in most cases with no dialogue needed. You see Kramer eyeballing something and you know when you see him next he's gonna have some crazy stupid scheme planned and he's going to try and drag everyone into it. Compared to TBBT, where they have to tell you exactly what they're thinking at every waking moment.
TBBT is trash. I'm offended by it because it gives the masses a very bad perception of what "nerds" and "geeks" are actually like. They're normal fucking people, with most of the time, normal lives. Because of TBBT people I know started comparing me to Sheldon because I happen to be able to Google things better than they do. Get the fuck out of here, fuck off with that shit.

On the topic of this trailer though, as much as I hate TBBT I honestly forgot this was even related to it. It seems like it might actually be good and have some level of substance to it.
