• Playstation Move - Start The Party Demo

This is REALLY accurate. Got this myself, and I was surprised when it actually was exactly what they promised. It's 1:1 on EVERYTHING. Start the Party is awesome. Table tennis and frisbee-golf were really fun too. I wish the demo let us try the sword-fighting too.
I remember back in 2000 I wished for a 3d game where you can go whenever you want in the city, if you do something bad - police will go after you, you can steal cars, kill people and every one would react like they suppose to. I didn't had internet so I didn't knew anything about new game releases, only source of new stuff was shelve with new games in my local store. It was something like wish that you will know will never come true, like now, in 2010 try to wish about a GTA styled game in a big city where literally every object from humans and cars to buildings built with these: And I'm not talking about big concrete building is build with only concrete, or humans only with flesh - every thing will have support beans inside the concrete and bones inside body that will break and fragment on-the-fly. Sounds impossible? GTA IV sounded impossible in 2000. And then, not long ago, somewhere in 2007-2008 I dreamed about a game where you can control how your character moves in the game, this would result in so many funny machinimas. And looks like it's going to happen soon.
Wrong thread or extremely offtopic?
Well... That's not me though.
Yeah that's the concept, but that game isn't very polished or deep enough, it's the right idea, but not that good execution. To explain it better, you could say that is Wii Tennis and what I want is Virtua Tennis.
Here's another Start the Party mode, that I missed. In Group mode, there's an extra mode where you have to do different things in a matter of seconds. Extremely fun.
Can't wait to watch DarksydePhil doing something like this, it's going to be hilarious.
love it that it actually looks like you are holding a frog on a stick
I'll hold out for a bit, wait for the price to drop a tad with more games that I'd really want and then grab it. Maybe some time around my birthday in march, with things like killzone 3 coming out before, sounds like a good time. Looks brilliant though, seems a LOT better than Kinect.
I notice one thing that I like about the ping pong game, at least. The AI actually looks like a person playing ping pong. If the move is the shittiest thing to come out this year, it'll still top the wii at what it does best.

I gotta admit, this looks awesome. I'm definitely gonna get this.
Much better than wii. Not even comparable to kinect.
Going to buy this myself very soon. Very excited.
your videos convinced me it wasn't a Wii HD ill try to get this tomorrow
How does this look good? Seems like a Wii with graphics, I'd go with Kinect just for something new.
gonna get a move with my new 320 gb ps3 for only 50 euros more than the regular 160gb with nothing added.
How does this look good? Seems like a Wii with graphics, I'd go with Kinect just for something new.
Way to make decisions without knowing what are you talking about. Wii just read the speed and pich/yav/roll of the controller. It can't tell where the controller is in the space, it can only tell how it is rotated in the world. This controller knows exactly where it is thanks to the camera and the ball + plus some additional sensors.
looks pretty cool, very responsive. just wanna see something REALLY cool aside for the same kind of games that you get with just the eye toy. something bad ass like god of war support would be cool [editline]12:14AM[/editline]
How does this look good? "Solo Play" Nah it looks pretty fun.

I appreciate Move and am in as much awe from these videos as the next guy, but let's not go blatantly lying about the Wii yet. The Wii can sense its position in 3D space and it does have a camera-light sensor system just like Move, albeit in a different form. On the Wii, you position a sensor bar on top or bottom of your TV that displays invisible-to-the-naked-eye infrered lights. In the tip of the Wii Remote is a small infrared sensor camera that looks for the sensor bar's two sets of lights and detects its position based on the angle and distance of the lights. The Move is basically the opposite of this - the lights are on the controller and the camera is on the TV. The main difference here being that you can actually see the light with your naked eye and the camera can see much more than just infrared light. The fact that the Eye has a much wider and precise scope of view and the lighted ball on the remote is so large is probably what helps makes it so extremely accurate. As far as "additional sensors" go, it just has a gyroscope and an accelerometer, which is basically the same thing as a Wii Remote with Wii Motion Plus attached (Wii Remote contains an accelerometer, Motion Plus has a gyroscope). So in essence, they're just about the same thing. The difference being in the reversal of positions between light and sensor and the type of light used to send to the sensor.
That's still not what gimmick means.
Yes, it can be used as a term to express disappointment on a product. I haven't tried Kinect or the Playstation Move. But so far it seems I rather use the Move, because in general people thinks it's generally better. I've mostly heard that the Move is good and Kinect is shit (I can't say anything on my own experience though). My point is that, it might not feel like a gimmick to you. But it can to other people who tried something better. Or simply thinks it doesn't work well. I also found this :) "In marketing language, a gimmick is a quirky feature that distinguishes a product or service without adding any obvious function or value. Thus, a gimmick sells solely on the basis of distinctiveness and may not appeal to the more savvy or shrewd customer."
I love how accurate it is. It's like the Wiimote but just "beefed up" in a way. I hope it's used to it's full potential, like a medieval-style game with realistic sword fighting.
That looks amazing. I wasn't expecting it to be so smooth. It looks like Sony just made a more powerful Wii.
Yeah but with Kinect you have a one time fixed price. Move is obviously made for runaway accesory sales. First you get the camre, then the controller, then another controller, then some attachment, then another attachment, then another controller etc. Before you know it you've paid much more than you would have for Kinect.
This actually looks good, Kinect makes everything spastic. Oh and, all the attachments are non-existant because they're all 3D.
I'll buy this as soon as someone releases a first-person sword slasher game. With dynamic dismemberment.

And that's why I love PS Move more.
i got the move with my new ps3. it's good. and i would deffinetely buy it because its only 50 euros
Looks so much better than Kinect. When my dad buys a Ps3 I'll probably get this!
Saw this in a Move vs. Wii video. Nice reason. [editline]10:58PM[/editline]
Also Heavy Rain footage, including me:
I love how the orb turns red when you need to do something.
