I think there was a dietitian who ate mcdonalds 3 meals a day and proved you could lose weight. I don't know about the dietitian's arteries, but they were decently healthy even after the weight loss.

McDonalds food isnt that bad, its just that people eat too much of it. If you count the calories and stay under your daily caloric expenses you can even lose weight. http://watchdocumentary.org/watch/fat-head-video_baebfd0f2.html
A diet consisting entirely of fast food is going to be pretty awful for you in the long run seeing as the majority of it is processed (yes, they've improved and I'll credit them for this). And although I don't really like the way the information was presented in this video, there's something to it: I've cut out a good portion of carbs, lost pretty much all refined sugar, and stuck to as much unprocessed food as I can (pork/chicken/steak, vegetables, eggs, some fruit and nuts) and alongside no longer grazing I've lost ~25 pounds in a little over two months.
Dressing something up really affects how people perceive it. But if you're going to call yourself an expert you should be able to avoid falling into those sorts of ruses, that's what distinguishes an 'expert' in this field from just a guy who memorized half a thesaurus.
i feel like if i had a mcnugget and was told it was something else i would still immediately say it tastes like a mcnugget
there must have been one or two people like that at least but why show them
McDonalds is probably the fast food chain which is under the most public scrutiny, they've gone a pretty long way to make their stuff almost like actual food in the last 5-10 years.
This is hilarious, especially those saying that it is much better than McDonalds.
i really want to see their faces when they realized it was mcdonalds
McDonald's food always makes my stomach feel uncomfortably full and heavy.
Would you be the kind of person to snap it in half with your germ-ridden sausage fingers? Don't be that person. Also I want some McDonald's now.
McDonald's food always makes my stomach feel uncomfortably full and heavy.
don't eat so much of it then?
I utterly detest Mcdonalds, and I'm not even pretentious or on a level where I see it as beneath me or some other arrogant shit like that. The fries are the only decent thing they do. Everything else is overpriced and at the very best, mediocre. The burgers are a joke. I can appreciate a Burgerking meal because the Burgers are actually really nice while the fries are still pretty good. As far as I'm concerned, Pizza Hut is overpriced shit pretending to be something far better and KFC is the worst fast food restaurant I've ever been to; the food there tastes like garbage and the last time I had to stomach it, it decided to leave my body later out from whence it came in.

No idea about the UK but here it's one of the cheapest fast foods available, nowhere else you can find a cheeseburger or similar-filling food for $1
this just prooves that no matter how "Bad" the people who buy your product think your food is, if you simply tell them it's a "Better alternative" and "the other stuff is bad stuff", "Its healthy", "it's new age" "it's a super food", "it's MSG/gluten/HFCS/pink slime/SRFGHF/DFGHRTYUS/SFGHFRTBYERTBYU FREE" they'll buy it more often. these people would hate mcdonalds, but they're eating it... and because of the presentation, they like it. If they were just a little more open minded they would be able to have eaten mcdonalds, knowingly and willingly. Just comes to show, if you market and present something well, you'll trick people into thinking what you got is a lot better than what you got. Organic food is better for you no doubt but who can really say mcdonalds (The polar opposite of organic) is really that bad? I mean I hate McDonalds but... not all that much. I really prefer subway but McDonalds is a thing that's out there for me.
I was hoping he'd tell them that it was really food they got from McDonald's and see how they reacted.
Funnily enough, I think McDonald's cheapo $0.79 burgers tastes better than their entrees like the Big Mac. McDonald's fries are good when fresh but around here they end up being undercooked or old half the time.
I was hoping he'd tell them that it was really food they got from McDonald's and see how they reacted.
some of them... they're so bloody pretentious I'd imagine they'd shriek in horror and deny it out right.
Organic food is better for you no doubt but who can really say mcdonalds (The polar opposite of organic) is really that bad?
Organic is not healthier, more nutritious, or "better" for you than non-organic food. And as I said earlier, knowing this fact yet continuing to buy organic food is supporting a non-sustainable food model for our growing seven billion people.
Organic food is better....for ones relation with ones food - or at least, potentially. That's all. A social thing. We can't imagine the industry, the plants and factories and green houses, let alone the whole chemical science of the capitalistic aspect of our daily bread. It's difficult to relate and attend to such specialized disconnected and globally assembled products. But organic makes us more aware once more of who, where, when, The product becomes more like food, like a sensuousness to relate through. Stronger taste is one of those relations.
This was fun, but there's nothing to suggest that they didn't cherry pick interviews, and are these people "food experts" anyway? Either way, it's really embarrassing for these people, but I wouldn't take it as proof that McD is simply just as good as everything else or whatever.
Listening to Dutch is so weird (I think this is Dutch, right? It definitely sounds Germanic). It's like a mixture between English and Simlish.
Listening to Dutch is so weird (I think this is Dutch, right? It definitely sounds Germanic). It's like a mixture between English and Simlish.
It is quite dutch. I would describe dutch as a drunken german man who speaks english with small hints of french.
See, this is why I hate shitface twats like Jamie Oliver who goes around telling people they need to eat organic and not eat unhealthy food. Well yeah maybe if organic food were cheaper instead.
Charlie Brooker made an excellent point about Jamie Oliver, saying that a lot of what he does is less about improving public health and more about snobbery. This is plainly more of the same thing - people don't want to like McDonald's food because they've been told it's unhealthy and that it's 'working class', so they dissociate themselves from it. To be honest though I was very surprised when I first tried out stuff from McDonald's 'new' menu a few years and found the quality was better than a lot of 'real' restaurants. My previous memory of their food was from '90s era McDonald's where everything was revolting plasticky crap. Although the price has gone up accordingly...
Who the hell thinks organic food is better for you, nobody here thinks that people buy it for environmental reasons
Listening to Dutch is so weird (I think this is Dutch, right? It definitely sounds Germanic). It's like a mixture between English and Simlish.
Whenever I listen to Dutch my thought process is basically "you understand this, but you don't know these words"

All of their burgers are super dry, the bacon is never crispy, their fries are always gross and seem undercooked. Granted, i'm not a HUGE fan of McDonalds but i do go with friends occasionally. Wendy's master race, though.
McDonald's fries are the worst fries I've ever had. It's akin to eating salted foam.

Wendy's master race, though.
Burger King in Australia (known as Hungry Jacks) is vastly different You can taste the difference between a HJ cheese burger and a Maccas one because for some unbeknownst reason they taste more cooked and that's for both my area and the main city. My only main complaint is that they go absolutely over the top with sauce McDonalds here also has a big issue with salt and chips. They are never able to perfect the ratio, one place I went to had the chip cup floor full of salt while other places put barely any on KFC chips tho are perfection, however they break and always stick out of the box, but taste amazing
See, this is why I hate shitface twats like Jamie Oliver who goes around telling people they need to eat organic and not eat unhealthy food. Well yeah maybe if organic food were cheaper instead. Its stupid when people tell you to eat organic food but they don't see the point that its alot more expensive, you could get organic eggs for like $12 for a dozen, and $2.50 for non-organic ones, and there is barely any difference.
That's not the point at all. The reason you'd buy "organic eggs", or what i'm assuming you're referring too, free range eggs, is because it's actually a fuck load more humane for the animal. I'm assuming you're unfamilar with the kinds of conditions that cage hens are placed in their entire lives, so here's a link here. [editline]23rd October 2014[/editline] Clarifying here though that i don't support organic tomatoes or whatever the fuck. You want to spend more on something that probably has fruit fly maggots in it then more power to you.
Hm. I haven't had a proper "meal" as McDonalds in a while now. Breakfast, plenty, but not the burgers. Evidently they must have stepped their game up. I had one of their kids meals recently just to try it and it tasted pretty shitty though. That might have been just because it was the kid's meal and it was basically just a ham slice between two squashed buns they were pretending was a burger. I'll have to try something a bit more substantial from there. That said, I think that it isn't out of the question that the food from McDonalds used in this video might be of a higher quality than the food from McDonalds in America. America has some of the laxest food quality standard laws in the world, so everything is just inherently shittier tasting here. That's not a joke or an exaggeration either, if you look at "vacationing to America" guides for other countries, one of the most commonly noted things is that the food is less expensive but it also tastes horrible. That could factor in to why Swedish McDonalds can trick food snobs but American McDonalds makes me lose my appetite.
