What someone wants is totally subjective. For someone it seems a good idea to buy a muscle car because that is what the person was always dreaming of driving some day, for someone else it might be a bad idea because these cars drink a lot of fuel which price is increasing every day.
In his case it is about what he thinks is dumb, and in her case it is what she thinks is dumb. It is subjective.
